The Rose a Shadow Flower??? I would know that!!!
I have a sample of the original Ombre Rose, I have tested it before, but I still couldn't decide how to judge it, as I am not yet sure what to think of it.
Completely different is the Fleur d'Ombre. This shadow rose has as much to do with shadows as the tropics do with ice.
In the opening, it is very fresh and zesty with a strawberry apple note, lightly citrus-tinged, slowly transitioning to the rose. A rose in mango color and the scent of the "Gloria Dei," the most fruitily scented rose I know.
The scent fades quite quickly and becomes a bit softer, but unfortunately disappears after an extremely short time for me - almost as fast as Mandragore by Goutal.
With a corresponding sillage (which is completely absent here) and a longevity of at least 3 hours, it would definitely be my fragrance. As it is, unfortunately, it is just an attempt to approach a fleeting scent.
Many thanks to Bee for this sample. It was definitely worth the attempt, as the scent is truly beautiful. I just hope it lasts longer for you than these pathetic 10 minutes it lasted in both attempts yesterday and today for me.
