So, what I get with Scandal pour Homme is an immediate synthetic blast, mixed with some pumped up creamy sweetness from the tonka bean. There's also a caramel in there somewhere, but it's not very prominent. I get more of a toffee kind of smell, which I guess is somewhat similar to caramel. The clary sage note adds some freshness and herbaceous feel, as well as a clear lack of balance to the composition, but after a while it dissipates noticeably. The vetiver tries its best to bring some of that earthy/woody dryness, yet it's a difficult task when you're engulfed in syntheticness and bothering sweetness. The fragrance also lacks proper development. It's pretty much the same from start to finish. And in terms of quality, I thing the couple of times I mentioned 'synthetic' should be enough to give you an idea of it. I imagine someone rebel, cocky, and scandalous would smell like this, which I suppose that's who this fragrance was made for.
For an eau de toilette, Scandal pour Homme did quite well in terms of longevity. I got around 8 hours until it would pretty much vanish from my skin. And projection-wise, for the first hour I had a solid one foot bubble around me, but afterwards this bubble would pop and settle down plenty. Given its synthetic nature, I also went nose-blind quite quickly to it. So I did need some help from a couple of friends in order to determine its projecting power and longevity. So in terms of sprays, I wouldn't really put on more than 5, really.
For occasions, this pretty much falls into the daily/leisure wear category. I wouldn't wear this to more special situations since it's too synthetic, immature, playful, and bland for most events. Sure, you could definitely rock this at a party/club, but personally, I don't think I'd want to smell like this - synthetic and sweet - in those situations.
No, actually, I don't think I'd want to smell like this in any situation. It's just a generic, annoying, poorly-executed fragrance. And what really makes Scandal pour Homme redundant is the fact that you've got many better options out there. Many better in this same ballpark of designer-ish sweetness and genericness, but also many that are simply better executed. There's certainly people that will like this, for one reason or another. But I still stand to my point: there's better options out there which just make Scandal pour Homme not worth the money, nor a consideration.
