Disapointing
Disapointing. The deodorant stick smells great. The after shave smells like a lemon based product to wash the dishes. And it's not refreshing. Burns like fire and my skin becomes even more irritated! I will not buy after shaves from this brand again. My dear money....

Formula change causes headaches
About 10 years ago, I bought my first bottle of Old Spice Wolfthorn.
Both the scent and the value-for-money rating deserve full marks.
The bottle is - typical for Old Spice - sealed with a small plastic stopper, which means you shouldn't carry the bottle upside down in your travel bag.

Three years ago, my fifth bottle was nearing its end, so I reordered the product on A*azon.
But then the shock:
The formula was changed.
The fresh, masculine scent was replaced by an extremely fruity concoction.

If Old Spice wants to win back former Wolfthorn customers, they should revert to the original formula.
As it stands, it unfortunately remains an average, almost below-average, aftershave.

Orange Juice After Shaving
For Christmas, my wife's family wanted to make us happy and passed around a wish list. Since I've been getting more into aftershaves for some time, I didn't really know what I wanted. There are as many aftershave manufacturers as there are grains of sand, and here in Ireland, I have everything I need; otherwise, Dambiro comes into play.

So, I was presented with the website of DM Hungary and Rossmann Hungary with the note "but nothing from Rossmann, please." I looked at the site and decided on Wolfthorn, as I usually prefer the Barbon aftershave from Caola from Hungary.

After my wife opened the package, she handed me the box, and my first reaction was, "I need to sniff it." It smelled very fruity and less like aftershave. Although it mentions grapefruit and lemon, it actually smells like orange juice, more like a concentrate.

Well, since I was planning to shave that day anyway, it was a good opportunity to bring the Wolf and its Thorn into the bathroom. After shaving, I poured a little into my hand and spread it on my face. Immediately, I felt like I was standing in the juice shop at the English Market. It smelled like an orange grove, and even the fruit and vegetable vendor waved at me.

It took a while for the scent to fade, and a bit of spice came through, as violet leaf and amber had a hard time breaking through, and I perceive them more as an alibi.

I find aftershaves very exciting and have about half a dozen of them; I especially seek out those 08/15 shaving waters that I grew up with, as well as niche brands that aren't so well-known.

From that perspective, I would say that Wolfthorn serves its purpose, no more and no less; whether it needs to be this fruity and a bit sweet is something everyone can decide for themselves. One thing is certain: it won't be used in the summer, as Irish wasps are very aggressive, and since we now live in the countryside, they have a good flying field.
