Orange-Chocolate Cookies

This is my first comment here on Parfumo, please don't hold it against me if it's not all that perfect ;)
Bitter Orange & Chocolate is one of five limited edition fragrances from the Jo Malone Sugar & Spice collection.
The scents are generally very simply constructed...the name says it all.
Bitter Orange & Chocolate smells exactly like that: chocolate and bitter orange. Do you know that soft cookie with orange jelly filling and half chocolate coating? Just as delicious as those cookies taste, this perfume smells.
For me personally, the chocolate note dominates from the very beginning, and after a short while, the orange completely fades into the background, leaving behind a chocolate dream that makes me want to lick my wrist. I hardly perceive any coconut.
So, if you enjoy the aforementioned sweets, you will love this scent.

I personally love BO&C as a fragrance, but I'm still not sure if I want to wear it regularly as a perfume and smell like orange-chocolate cookies. Perhaps it will be more wearable for me in combination with another scent; I will try to find that out in the near future.

In conclusion, I would like to add that this perfume -in my opinion- would also be quite wearable for the male part of the gourmand perfume fans.

Oh yes, I immediately thought of those cookies or soft cakes with that name. It's interesting that the scent really smells like that ;-).

I think you can say whatever you want; I also mention eBay, Wikipedia, or whatever, because I find the "descriptions" too silly, so I don't use them either ;)

Thank you for your lovely comments, they motivate me to comment on perfumes more often in the future.
I wasn't sure if I could call it "Soft Cake" here because of the "cookie description" (advertising?)...

However, I can't quite agree with the classification below. Fruity and sweet are different for me; I find it to be citrusy and spicy (=herb/bitter), Gourmand - yes :)

Correct, Aquila ;) We also call it under the brand Soft Cake (Orange) ;) But I prefer the raspberry or apple versions ;) So a comment like that is totally fine B1I1B :D

Very beautifully described, that's how I perceive this scent as well. My first thought was: it smells like "Jaffa Cakes."

The Sugar & Slice Collection is meant to be fun...
And those man/woman symbols up in the corner are nonsense... Men and women are empowered enough these days to wear what they like and enjoy... :-)

Well, what a nice comment! I feel the same way; I enjoy sniffing gourmands, but whether I want to smell like that all day... ?
