Reminds me of a dry white wine
I’ve smelled lots of Jo Malone’s because my mama used to (back when I was a teenager) and still wears them a lot. I’m not sure if she’s ever tried this one, but I’ll have to have her try this one out.
Nectarine Blossom & Honey has absolutely no honey in it, but maintains a subtle sweetness from opening to its dry down. It opens with a blast of green notes and syrupy black currant, which contributes to both the sweet fruitiness of this scent AND the greenness. It’s very lovely and doesn’t come off screechy at all. After a couple of minutes, the peach and nectarine come in and add this juicy, yummy, fruity fragrance, and mix with the green accords. It smells like the skin of a semi-ripe nectarine / peach hybrid, and the plum and vetiver add this sweet, aromatic wine-like touch to the scent. It’s a very grown up way to do a fruity scent and I think that’s why I like it so much. I don’t come across black locust much in scents, so I wouldn’t be able to tell if I’m picking it up or not.
I agree with the notion that it smells like a wine, but it smells like a semi-sweet white wine, like a Pinot Grigio or a sangria that’s been mixed with something to lessen the sweetness. It’s so so beautiful and it wears like a dream. It’s light, but has a presence and is so easy to wear alone or match with other scents. Perfect for the spring and summer days and for almost any occasion.
Jo Malone scents are notorious for their bad performance, but at the end of the day, they are colognes and not EDPs or Parfums/Extraits. Intimate to moderate projection and moderate longevity. If you are looking for a more grown up and mature fruity fragrance, try this one out.
