Berlin, Berlin, we shine to Berlin

“Berlin” by Joop is a legend. Not as big as the fragrance deserves, but it is a dearly missed legend. Nationally and internationally. Almost the ladies' counterpart to “Relax.” And despite the great tuberose tableau, it’s not as “feminine” as one might think.

“Berlin” is a powdery tuberose sunshine that simply lifts your spirits. And to this day, there are actually no alternatives. A world city scent. Elegant, thick, a little dirty. Full of character, full of punch. It presses into the nose, it has mass and class. Too heavy for summer, surprisingly fluffy and non-sweaty for a tuberose nonetheless. Gourmand base, a Brandenburg Gate of clove vanilla. A fragrance that speaks volumes and has tradition. Love Parade still without shadows. The 90s with thick ovaries. A boost from Berlin, a boom from the capital. It withstands the test of time in the hearts of many people who were confronted with it back then and still are today. Flawless. Legendary, as mentioned, rather. Muddy fruit chypre with edge and warmth. The bosom of the homeland.

Bottle: simple Joop, but somehow iconic
Sillage: potent, but not an over-tuberose
Longevity: 10 hours - Made In Germany

Conclusion: perhaps the best, powderiest tuberose that ever disappeared from the mainstream market. An absolute waste!

Legendary and unforgettable, this Berlin sunshine accompanied me through the 90s... only the best memories... okay, maybe a few embarrassing ones too... That's just how the 90s were!

Definitely, a Tom Ford would charge about three hunies for something similar today...

That was a really great scent. And if you look at what’s being released under the name Joop! these days...
Berlin would be an expensive niche today, and the 90s were a fantastic decade full of excitement.

Fantastic and spot on. Shortly after I first smelled Berlin, I couldn't get the scent out of my head. The bouquet was just as bold as the bottle color. I couldn't help it; I had to buy a bottle. I really miss it on the market today. For me, one of the absolute best Joop fragrances ever!!!
