Majestic Woods is a thoroughly mystical fragrance. This scent is so majestic, so mystical, so fantastic, so opulent. I can't help but be transported by Majestic Woods into the fantastic world of Maleficent (films from 2014, Disney). Even after the first spray, its aura pulls me deep into the moors.
The fragrance weaves delicate threads between the dark fairy and the moors. Connections that are anchored in the depth of the scent. They are the soul of Majestic Woods. -old wood, dark, oudy -Patchouli, earthy, mossy, sweet -Amber, spicy-warm and then Maleficent comes to mind... Maleficent is a femme fatale, an incredibly vain, beautiful, threatening, dark, mystical, strong, brave, and yet still vulnerable woman or fairy.
Majestic Woods is syrupy, intense, creamy, slightly powdery, dense, very dark-woody, deliciously sweet, and unbelievably sexy. Vanilla is tame and barely noticeable to my nose. Oud, on the other hand, is strong but not repulsive, as I usually perceive oud. Patchouli grounds it, and amber is spicy and wonderfully warm. Praline and tonka are not specifically discernible. However, they surely contribute to this sweet-creamy base. The sweetness is not overpowering like in many other Juicy scents, but warm and dark. It is certainly not a fragrance for everyday wear, more for evenings out. Longevity and sillage are unbelievably good. When I wear this scent, I feel a bit like the dark fairy. A fragrance for strong women. A fragrance for special moments.
Oh, that's an incredibly beautiful and intriguing description. I love the character of Maleficent and the tension between dark, warm, and vulnerable...
...they only became dark because their pure love was once hurt. That brings a dose of bitterness and foresight to the originally sweet naivety. And that is often more appealing than pure sweetness ;-)
