The Pulse of the Rose and My Gift to You

Badiah is my welcome gift to all of you at Parfumo
Badiah is part of my most beautiful memories of Dubai, and one of my most treasured finds. The lovely Althea has already described Badiah very beautifully. I greatly appreciate her analytical approach and accurate description. What surprised me the most when I finally registered at Parfumo after all those years of silent observation was the astonishment that, despite the immense number of participants, no one had ever heard of Badiah.
It did not appear in any comments.

I discovered Badiah in Dubai, at Syed Junaid Alam himself.
I was out with my wife, strolling through the souk of the Dubai Mall. I was wearing the traditional attire, a long white shirt typical for Arab men. Since I am half Oriental myself and know that presenting oneself in a culturally appropriate manner opens doors, this is usually a great advantage. I was, as always, in search of the holy grail, and I was about to find it. We were admiring Junaid's treasure chamber.

Junaid himself was present.
A very warm man with kind eyes and a humble demeanor. After a brief exchange of pleasantries and the question about my preferred fragrance notes, he introduced me to Badiah.
It was his latest creation. One thing upfront... I had not been looking for a rose scent! Rose is very much favored by men in Arab countries, a note I had never preferred or wanted.

This one was different, completely different; it was a dream.
Never in my life would I have thought that a rose-oud-musk fragrance could appeal to me so much. One of the most beautiful rose scents that has ever come under my nose. One of the most remarkable characteristics of Badiah is its pulse; it has the pulse of a Fars, Amber, or Musk Star. I know all three. It is a note that is present in all three. It constantly pulses in its aura; for me, it is the so-called Xerjoff DNA. It is a gentle whip of musk and oud. The musk is as soft as liquid, creamy cotton candy.
The oud is as soft and smooth as melting, warm nougat.
And a rose that probably grows on Venus.
Badiah is, for me, a personal masterpiece!
To create something like this from just three fragrance notes is grandiose.
Since that day, I wear it with pride, a rose scent that I never wanted.
There are only two fragrances that I exclusively wear in Dubai and Abu Dhabi,... Badiah and Dhofar; they interpret for me the Arab lifestyle of the man and the country very accurately.
The fragrance is hardly available in Europe and very expensive outside of Europe according to my own research.
Since I bought four fragrances from Syed at once... two for me and two for my wife, I can hardly say what it cost me.
In my opinion, it was around €100.
It is worth three times that! Should I be in Dubai again, my first stop will be a visit to Syed Junaid Alam, still an unknown genius of fragrances for all of us.

Thank you once again for my warm welcome at Parfumo
and I hope my little gift to you brings you joy.

Insallah....Can
