Spicy Peach Shampoo
Dear peach lovers,
today we are talking about Kajal Homme II. A fragrance that I had to have based on the initial descriptions, as I am looking for a really good peach scent that is more suitable for men after the rather solid Kirke and Erba Pura. So I happily participated in the sharing and ordered 5ml for an in-depth test.
Kajal Homme II starts fruity-green and slightly heads in the direction of H24-Hermes, albeit only for a short time. The green notes come across as anything but outdated, rather modern and understated in combination with the mandarin. In the background, a peach note in an oriental guise is already announcing itself, which I really like. Up to this point, the fragrance is very promising and ranks among the top 10 of everything I have tested so far. Unfortunately, unfortunately…..it doesn’t stay that way.
Some Parfumo users criticize the increasing sweetness and synthetic quality. For my part, I can partially agree. The fragrance does become sweeter, but not overly so, even though the opening was significantly more promising. What particularly bothers me is the very synthetic musk note, which seems to increasingly take over the fragrance. The green-oriental peach turns into slightly spicy peach shampoo. This doesn't ruin the fragrance entirely, no, I still quite like it, but it makes the promising opening fade and diminishes my willingness to pay nearly €200 for the bottle.
I can also only partially understand the current ratings regarding longevity and sillage. At best, the fragrance lasts just under 7 hours on my skin, which is acceptable by my standards, but neither really solid nor good. The sillage is quite present within the first 90-120 minutes, but then increasingly becomes skin-close. I would compare the projection to Club de Nuit Intense Man edP. It can be noticed, it’s still there when you don’t expect it, but it doesn’t fill rooms or remain extremely present for hours.
The bottle is stylish, no question about it. I cannot evaluate the sprayer, but I quite like the cap. It’s a pity that the bottle is not see-through, as that is always a minus point for me.
Otherwise, I would recommend Kajal Homme II to all Parfumo users looking for an oriental peach that is exceptional yet easy to like, as well as to anyone who doesn’t mind shampooed musk too much and is still willing to spend a lot of money on a fragrance. Kajal Homme II will probably not be my peach of choice. However, I would be very grateful for tips and suggestions in this direction!
As always: Thank you very much for reading!
