Velvety spice and all things nice
I never expected this fragrance to be so unique and interesting. Since testing Kate, her first fragrance, I assumed that all her scents would be safe and unoriginal. Velvet Hour transcends past the common stereotype, and becomes something distinctive and alluring.

I'll start by saying that Velvet Hour is a sillage monster, a scent that lasts and lasts. Because this fragrance is so strong I would most likely recommend this scent for Winter or night use.

It's sweet, peppery, dark, intense and strangely beautiful. I'm so surprised that this fragrance sells so cheaply. I think its price may have something to do with the lack of promotion, because it definitely isn't based on the quality of this fragrance.

Velvet Hour opens with the soft and powdery freesia note, with the incense and pepper creating a smoky yet spicy quality. This opening on its own is very impressive.

The patchouli becomes quite strong after a few minutes of wear but the nutmeg mantains a certain softness and femininity which is delightful.

The drydown is a little bland, however I do still enjoy this fragrance. Amber ends this fragrance with a warm and sensual closure.

I'd make this fragrance a top pick for a unique evening scent that will certainly have you noticed and admired.

Midnight Hour
It is midnight. In the depths of the forest, it has been pitch dark for quite some time. Crumbling branches crack, here and there there is rustling in the bushes, and in the distance, a little owl cries out. Nowhere to be seen or heard is a soul. But wait!

Up ahead in the small clearing, someone has just lit a candle. The silhouette of a figure can be seen, wrapped in a dark blue robe with a hood. Made of velvet, it seems.

The moon has just disappeared behind a cloud, and yet through the candlelight, one can see that the figure has set up a cauldron in front of her. The cauldron seems to be gently bubbling, as if water or another liquid is sloshing back and forth. Delicate hands begin to sprinkle various ingredients into the cauldron. Pepper, quite clearly! Along with a generous amount of nutmeg. But something slightly floral also rises to the nose... could that be freesias? The light breeze blowing through the forest causes the candle to flicker and carries the scents from the cauldron with it, making the leaves of the trees whisper. The scent of dark wood and a hint of earth is perceptible, the fragrance of the nocturnal forest. Meanwhile, the mysterious figure has removed her hood and begun to murmur strange words. Long, shiny black hair falls over her cloak, revealing the profile of a pretty young woman. The slightly stronger patchouli scent of her robe (one might even suspect remnants of incense in the fibers of her cloak) and the creamy scent of her skin are already intertwined with the fragrances from the cauldron and the forest.

Spicy-woody-sweet. A scent that fits well when it is dark. That is special.

Suddenly, the contents of the cauldron begin to bubble loudly. Then a hissing, a flash of light, and a bang. The woman has vanished. Was she a witch? Or a fairy?

All that remains is her scent.

velvety
When I hugged my mother recently, a wonderfully velvety scent wafted into my nose. Velvet Hour - she clarified for me.
I was completely taken with it, as it is powdery but not heavy.
And it is both bright and dark at the same time.
Very controversial and therefore very interesting.
I think the freesia is responsible for the brightness, while sandalwood and ebony add the dark tone.
Amber and patchouli make it soft.
An absolutely feminine, smooth fragrance that gives its wearer something mysterious.
The sillage is also good, as I could still pleasantly perceive my mom even after she had already left the room.
I will definitely get it for myself as well.

The Blue Hour
Another blind buy… Admittedly, Manson's comment got me hooked. Plus, my hunting instinct kicked in since the production has been discontinued.

I actually expected something heavier, darker!
I am greeted by an interesting and pleasant, almost fruity note that I can't quite place. Blue pepper? I know white, green, black, red, and even violet (a variant of red pepper, actually Schinus fruits), and also plenty of other pepper varieties (long pepper, cubeb pepper, monk's pepper, Sichuan pepper...), but I've never heard of blue pepper! However, I think it's more likely that an unnamed ingredient is responsible for this opening.
Then "Velvet Hour" becomes quite close to my skin and primarily has a subtly woody-spicy, dry character, but not powdery - surely due to the Cashmeran. Velvety, as the name suggests? Yes, that fits! I can hardly detect any patchouli in it, nor any nutmeg, which is just fine by me, but it also bears no resemblance to "Casmir," which I perceive as significantly sweeter and more oriental.

No, I can't associate anything dark or even gloomy with this perfume! Rather twilight hour or indeed the "Blue Hour," than midnight! And due to its unobtrusiveness on my skin, it is definitely suitable for everyday wear and business.

I really can't understand the harsh criticism of earlier comments, where even vomit is said to be sniffed out - but every nose is different. However, I wouldn't want to generally assume an eating disorder for all super-slim models. That the delicate Kate has publicly done cocaine is, after all, undeniable. But does that mean she can't sell a perfume? I'm hardly ever interested in the image behind celebrity perfumes anyway. For me, only the scent matters, or sometimes the bottle. I find both quite appealing here. Therefore, no faulty (blind) buy!

Now, but really:
I’m not really a fan of Kate Moss, but 1. she only lent her name (and her face and so on) and 2. I don’t really know what you all have against her.

I like it. And I already have my second bottle (although the first one only contained 15 ml and the second one usually lies unused in my dark box due to many other perfumes).

This is not a floral-fruity generic mess. The scent is, especially for a drugstore fragrance, unusual. Dark, smoky, bitter. Oriental without vanilla, but with pepper and a decent amount of incense. Somehow dry. Towards the end, it becomes softer due to the amber, but not sweet.

It's definitely something for the evening (although I’m quite tolerant towards myself in winter). And if I had a velvet dress, I would wear it.

Mysterious, dark, woody, sweet, floral, peppery - a very unusual drugstore scent that’s probably why it’s no longer available.

It wanted to be a lot, but it just couldn't. At first, I was pleasantly surprised, but later it turned out to be a sticky, cardboard-like mess.

A beautiful spicy, woody-sweet & magical scent. Dior's Midnight Poison's little sister, just lighter & more suitable for everyday wear. Love!
