Vintage Muse Kate Moss 2010

Vintage Muse is very likable, and dare I say, sexy. Kate Moss hasn't disappointed me yet with her perfume releases. She continues to create unique, well-priced and wearable fragrances for everyone to enjoy.

Grabbing my attention upon first sniff, it was quite humourous how many people approached the fragrance counter in the store I was in after they caught a whiff of this interesting scent.

I'd describe Vintage Muse as being a dark, spicy and sensual musky scent. It's not overly gourmand, however hints of delectable chocolate, rhubarb and plum emerge every now and then.

This fragrance relies on its rather smooth blend of rich florals and spicy musk. It's thankfully not as sweet as I expected it to be, nor as musky and fresh as the original Vintage.

Vintage Muse has some similarities to Velvet Hour, although they are completely different scents. The whole mood and concept is what I find familiar.

I was seriously considering adding this to my wishlist, however unfortunately the longevity is poor. This is Vintage Muse's only downfall in my opinion. At such a reasonable price ($30 AUD for 50ml), perhaps re-applying isn't too much of a bother, but it would be nice if it did last just that little bit longer.

Today I discovered Vintage Muse in a moving box - still wrapped.
I sprayed it out of curiosity and was surprised by the full creamy scent that wafted towards me.
Mmm, plum and rhubarb. Very delicious.
Then the beautiful mild peony and finally chocolate.
I would classify it as a gourmand fragrance.
Definitely noteworthy and wearable.
The longevity is good as well.
It is suitable for both day and evening.

In the current issue of the magazine JOY (January 2011), there is a fragrance special. Some new variations of a classic are assigned to the following fragrance families:

Oriental: Modern Classic COCO Mademoiselle

Muse Vintage is among the Orientals.

The fragrance expert for JOY was the Berlin perfumer Geza Schön (41).
Muse Vintage is his absolute favorite, and he says the following about it:

"Vintage Muse smells of plum and orchid, is very musky with an animalistic note - simply awesome!"

"So, Mr. Schön, could it be that your sense of smell is impaired by smoking like Kate sometimes does, and that's why you come to this fragrance description? I absolutely disagree with you. Let me tell you why!

The scent (EDT) has a slightly fruity opening that dissipates very quickly, leaving a harsh jumble that causes me a headache. Vintage Muse is also too intense for me. It smells (if you can call it that) heavy, and I can't handle a certain heaviness. The chocolate scent is great, but this one is not present in the fragrance at all, just a constant harsh muddle!
Under "simply awesome," I understand the following: Want to have! - Oh yes! Very nice! Fits! seductive, elegant, lovely...

Vintage does not suit me at all, I don't want to have it, it's not very nice, nor is it seductive. It might be seductive for young women who are into bad boys like Pete Doherty.

Well, I don't understand why some people rate it poorly; okay, taste is always subjective, everyone has their own. But I think there are so many cheaper options out there than this great scent. On my skin, it lasts forever, smells super pleasant, and is never too overpowering. I get a strong note of musk and orchid. A truly wonderful fragrance that is strong at first and later becomes floral and oriental.

I just find it expensive; in stores, 30 ml for 30 euros?? That's pricey, but I treat myself to it, especially in autumn.

As a confessed Kate Moss fan and also a fan of the Kate perfume line, I am all the more disappointed to finally get my hands on this scent. Sprayed on with high expectations, I immediately sought out the shower because I consider this fragrance to be an imposition! It simply smells like several overturned scents all at once. I can't find anything appealing about this fragrance. Unfortunately, 0 points is not an option here. I have never smelled such a disgusting perfume!
