I'm currently living a big disapointment. I've been a fan of Kayali ever since I started this fragrance hobby and their recent releases have left me feeling underwhelmed by their offerings. Might be that my nose has evolved or something, but this further drives the nail into the proverbial coffin of my love for them.
The beginning on paper is a sweet, candy-like peach note. On my skin, it turns into a horrible, cheap and synthetic excuse of a peach. It's screechy, very sharp, strong and very bubble bath-like. It's got a weird freshness to it that I wouldn't expect from the Eden line. My own boyfriend recoiled from it when I made him smell it on my skin (and he's loved the Kayali's that are in my collection). As it moves on, it starts to morph into a lipstick-like floral thing, VERY reminiscent of what I've smelled previously in Fleur Majesty Rose Royale | 31. It's like they recycled the middle notes of this perfume and slapped it on Sweet Peach. Deep drydown is the original, sweet, vanilla-like and warm hug drydown I've come to recognize.
It's like they tried taking the peach note from Peachy Glow, amped up the synthetic, childish aspect of it and then slapped some FMRR middle note and finished it off with the usual warm, sweet, vanilla Kayali combo. It doesn't have a clear direction and it doesn't feel like part of the Eden line like Apple and Lychee had. I thought the peach note would be more refined and on the juicy, fruity side. Didn't think it'd go for that synthetic mess of a note. Will definitely not me going for a bottle and I suggest you try it out for yourself instead of falling for the social media hype. Kayali has been going downhill for a while...
