Powdery and waxy lipstick paired with a rose

When I heard about this fragrance coming out, I didn't rush to get it. First, because it was touted as rose-forward fragrance (which I'm not really a fan of) and also because the influencers I follow had a lukewarm response to it. Since the Sephora Spring Sale is coming up, I took a moment to head to a store and sniff a few perfumes that I might be ordering. This one was out so I decided to try it out anyways.

Damn, am I glad I did not go for a blind travel size (or a full bottle, but I've never done that so...). This is soo far from my kind of fragrances and vibe. Might be one of the rare Kayali that I can say I dislike instead of being indifferent towards it. The beginning was very promising: a juicy, sweet array of fruits; smelled really great! I got the pear and the peach the most out of the four fruits at the top. Unfortunately, it didn't last long. It morphs almost immediately into a strong powdery and waxy lipstick fragrance with a rose flavor to it. It's a little bit vintage, but at the same time, modern on one side. The plasticky, lipstick accord is a very strong deterrent to me. It smells thick and overpowering. As it dries down, I could sense the vanilla trying to peak through and a hint of vetiver earthiness and spiciness, but the lipstick accord remains the queen here.

If you love lipstick fragrances and roses, you might find something great here. It's so far from the usual gourmand fragrances Kayali makes that I was really surprised at it (but not in a good way). I suggest you sample it and avoid going for a blind-buy. It's not a safe fragrance (far from it).

Nice for a rose scent

Not a favorite from kayali but it is pretty. Just not something i would wear really.
At first it was a fruity sweet, not super sweet like others are making it out to be but enough for you to think “oh it’s a little sweet”.
Then the rose came through a lot & it is more of a powdery rose and it does have an aquatic feel to it hours later in the background of that powdery rose. But the fruity sweetness is still there but at this point it is super faint.

Sugary Pear Teenage dream

I feel like a lot of reviews I saw before trying the new Kayali really under stated just how sugary this perfume is - it's very pear dominant, a candied pear that I can imagine biting into and getting sugar crystals getting stuck in my teeth. There is a little fruity acidity in the opening from the mandarin that softly fades over time to a musky, violet-ambroxan combination, which I think is represented visually by the ombre bottle. The rose feels more like a base note underneath everything rather than the star.

This isn't an original scent profile as it very much has the same composition of notes as Irresistible from Givenchy, however I think it Fleur Majesty is more successful than its designer counterpart (I happen to find that Givenchy extremely unpleasant). The pear and rose in Irresistible really doesn't work for me and makes my nose crinkle if I happen to catch a whiff of it in the wild - it's almost dirty smelling and unpleasantly synthetic. Fleur Majesty is much bolder, has greater fidelity to representing this particular profile which seems half-baked in the Designers attempt. FM doesn't not smell "natural" as it is so candied and might come off a little synthetic to some noses but it is very bright and happy. A quality I appreciate about Kayali as a brand even when they are a bit too sweet for my personal taste. I can imagine this fragrance attaching to a core memory for a teenager, or even for a "grown up" who doesn't want to wear an overly serious fragrance.

Rose Oud is still my favorite from the brand but I quite like the look of the miniature in my collection. I hope Mona has more rose releases in the future!

Fruity, powdery rose

A beautiful sweet, fruity, powdery rose fragrance.
Honestly reminds me of smelling both Initio Atomic Rose and PDM Delina Exclusif - and this fragrance would be their love child.
It reminds me of Delina’s sweet, powdery rose with the fruity blend of bergamot, pear and litchi.
Where this fragrance has the same sweet pear but blended with a juicy peach and light citruses of orange and mandarin instead.
It also reminds me of that jammy rose dry down that Atomic Rose has, although not the same with that initial dark rose opening.
Fleur Majesty just seems to maintain that light airy, fruity sweet and powdery rose scent which is just beautiful. But also comes across slightly synthetic smelling when worn in the warmer weather. In the colder days the juicy sweetness of the fruits and rose pop more nicely. I only wish it would last longer, like all the Kayali fragrances in our collection they don’t seem to have great longevity. Lasts around 4hours sometimes a bit longer but it would be a very intimate, close to skin scent. Which is fine if you’re happy reapplying every couple of hours if you want a larger projection to remain.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...

The bottle already signals it and yet you have to smell it to understand it. Fleur Majesty combines the "best" (perhaps also simply the most popular) from the fruity-floral world and presents itself in an ombré look, which actually almost represents the colors of its role models. From my subjective perception, the fragrance starts fruity, fresh and pleasantly sweet when sprayed on, and no, it is not even remotely as sweet as its siblings. Anyone who knows Irresistible will recognize it at the start. But only while stocks last, because the rose soon emerges and it is not green, powdery or stem-fresh and natural, but cosmetic. For me, it resembles the rose in Donna by Valentino, it has a light lipstick note with warm, velvety textures. Have you ever rubbed fresh rose petals between your fingers until they are crushed? Yes, that's it. The pear still resonates slightly in the background, but the rose is the focal point until an already familiar DNA envelops the nose. Don't expect gourmand sweetness, vanilla or sweetness in the drydown. The base enchants our diva into a little pink princess who already has her home elsewhere. Yes, little Delina has been hiding at the very back and is now here to stay for as long as she can.
You will certainly recognize other scents, DNAs and vibes, because the bottle has been saying it all along.
