Blanc Ensoleille
Aptly named, you definitely get all 3 of the hero notes in Blanc Ensoleille: bergamot, coconut, and musk. Bergamot smells like 7-Up or Sprite to me, and that light, soda-like fizziness is here too. The bulk of the scent is a soft coconut that reminds me of various SunBum products. The musk in the base is pleasant and familiar.

I don't think there's any surprises with this one, and I'm ok with that! If we're splitting hairs, I think it could be stronger since the performance feels a bit like a body splash. The addition of a woody note like papyrus could be really nice too. But with that said, it's perfect for bare skin and warm weather.

This time no Nivea
Well, this perfume definitely does not smell like sunscreen (to me). Zero, nada. I can totally relate when it comes to scents like Soleil Blanc, Bronze Goddess, Vanilla Vibes and a few others. This fragrance is miles away from the milky sunscreen. There is no trace of milk here. You know those white cans with the green coconut on them from the Asian market? That's exactly what this smells like. It's an extremely fresh scent, refreshing and light like fresh coconut water in a green coconut that's still untouched.

It is joined by a hint of synthetic fragrance that often accompanies coconut scents. In some ways, the way this fragrance is composed reminds me of Juliette has a Gun. Blanc Ensoleillé is musky-heavy and a subtle scent that unfolds close to the skin. For me, it's something of an "after sports" scent that you can wear in a very relaxed way to smell fresh, green and a little exotic.

Creamy!
Spritzy coconut + white flowers + sunscreen.

Opens intensely and creamy coconut scented, unfortunately, it becomes much weaker every hour. For me, after 4 hours, it's over.
Goes in the direction of Soleil Blanc (perfume), but is somehow more fruity or minimally tangy. Like a Soleil Blanc with carbonic acid and less cream. This will be the bergamot.

Basically perfectly fine, unisex, hold work (below) average.
Released at the wrong time of year, but moves into the collection for the coming spring and summer.

Coconut with potential
I love Pina Colada, Malibu and the taste of coconut. The same goes for perfumes, of course. This summery vibe and the images of sun, beach and sea that I associate with it are just great. That's why I'm always on the lookout for fragrances that do a great job with coconut. My absolute favorite and King or Queen of the Hill so far is Virgin Island Water by Creed.

Admittedly, I have not yet been able to test many other perfumes with dominant coconut. i have Le Beau, which is good, but doesn't come close to VIW. Paula's Ibiza has no taste of coconut for me, with Boss Bottled Pacific I can only sense it.

So today I was able to test Blanc Ensoleillé from Zara. I ordered and bought the perfume as a blind buy. First things first: VIW remains on the throne for me, but that was to be expected.

I don't want to make a direct comparison here, although I sprayed VIW on the back of one hand and Blanc Ensoileillé on the other for the test.

Blanc Ensoleillé starts off brutally alcoholic for me. So penetrating that it almost stings my nose if I get it too close to my skin. The bergamot is also easy to smell and clearly defines the top note. Together with the strong taste of alcohol, this gives me the scent of a caipirinha.

Fortunately, the alcohol soon evaporates and the coconut (milk) and fig flavor slowly emerge alongside a slightly retreating bergamot. I find the fact that I smell fig here rather irritating and only fits in here to a limited extent, but I don't really like fig either.

Perhaps a quarter of an hour after spraying it on, the creamy coconut flavor slowly but clearly emerges and immediately makes me think of the white round balls. I find the taste strikingly similar. In the meantime, however, there is already a hint of musk. Interestingly, the fig is clearly more dominant in this phase on the test paper, but not on my skin, where it has faded discreetly into the background and adds this somewhat "dull" component to the flavor cocktail.

Nothing really new happens for me in the drydown. It may be that the musk and something woody comes to the fore even more. But for me, the fragrance that developed in the heart note simply recedes and disappears after just under 3-4 hours.

Conclusion: Fresh from the jar, Blanc Ensoilellé is good, especially for the price, but it doesn't exactly knock my socks off at the moment. For me, the main reason for this is the lack of finesse and the rather disappointing shelf life. As I'm writing this, VIW is performing brilliantly while Blanc Ensoilelle is fizzing away.

However, I also had to let VIW mature (fresh from the jar, the performance was rather poor), and I will do the same with the Zara fragrance. And: summer is still to come. So it's quite possible that I'll adjust the ratings upwards and, if necessary, add some additional text.

SUMMER IS OVER
definitely - for me - with this fragrance. I really liked it last year. The creaminess and also the sweetness. When it was very hot. Sprayed on a white shirt, it gave me the perfect summer feeling. A kind of happy hour fragrance.
Now, with the temperatures rising again, I've taken it out again. I don't think it's so good anymore. It "ages" badly - and that after just two years. I liked it last summer, but this year I find it somehow sticky and far too sweet.
It's certainly not the coconut. I still like coconut. For example, the great coconut oil from Ligne St. Barth, or the coconut spray from Yves Rocher. So that's not the problem. Coconut still makes me hope for a hot summer and fun days at the outdoor pool.
For me, it's more the combination of the different facets that make it difficult to bear this year. Perhaps the musk (here, less or nothing is more for me anyway), or the combination with the bergamot...
But maybe it's also because I'm somehow "fed up" with Zara fragrances. I already mentioned that in another review. The fragrances per se are not bad. But I find them all the same in the order. Somewhere too much, somewhere too artificial and somewhere too little. Too little depth, too little substance. I also don't think the fragrance has enough of a story to tell (me).
I still really like the bottle with its heavy glass. I'm actually using it as a bookend at the moment. It's great for that and also looks good. Maybe it can spend a summer or two there and then come back to the fragrance board. Or maybe I'll be overcome with sentimentality and it will sneak back into my heart that way. In this hope, it will remain in my collection. Otherwise, however, I see little chance for this rather sticky blend at the moment.

Beautiful, fresh coconut perfect for wearing on the beach. Doesn't smell like a pina colada or a Bounty bar. I love it.

A fragrance like if you were on a tropical sunny beach drinking creamy coconut milk.
