Unfortunately, I can't say who I owe the sample to. Here’s a heartfelt thank you to the noble donor. I really enjoy berries. I like this slightly sour aroma paired with fruity and tart sweetness.
Wild Berries is a tribute to those berries, underlined with the finest musk. Which is supposed to be characteristic of the scents from Keiko Mecheri. I can't say too much about that. This is the second fragrance from this house that I am exploring closely. The first was Cuir Cordoba, which impressed with its interesting blend of iris and suede. So far, I have only noticed that both are very noble and exquisite.
It starts off quite bitter, sour, and green. Actually rather dark and even a bit mystical. Dark, shiny blackcurrants, and there must be some fresh leaves that have accidentally made their way into the bottle. Slightly bitter, you can almost taste it. This bitter and sour fruit juice leaves a bitter film on the tongue. I find it by no means unpleasant. A bit cumbersome, yet fresh, not too pleasing. I quite like it. A full-bodied and natural aroma, without glucose or fructose syrup.
This somewhat rough and dark opening soon gives way to the bright and caressing heart note. The green, grassy impression fades. The strawberry can be beautifully detected. Also natural, but pleasantly sweet. A slightly bitter and herbaceous note lurks in the background the whole time, giving the fragrance the necessary depth. I perceive the musk as very soft and clean. Initially somewhat soapy, it gradually transforms into something gentle and creamy. Overall, the fragrance changes more and more into a tamer version. A light and fluffy berry cream. Beautifully refreshing and initially a little cool, it melts silkily and soothingly. A dessert that is wonderfully light yet still appears sensual and feminine. The fragrance gains more warmth and charm.
The base reveals itself rather quietly and delicately. The initially bitter and herbaceous tones are no longer discernible. Only a warm and gentle whisper remains. An elegant, soft scent. Not at all perfumey or intrusive. A cozy clean cream scent, enhanced with a delicious berry aroma. Far removed from a clichéd fruit basket and bowls of sugar.
The longevity is quite decent at around eight hours. Unfortunately, the sillage is rather close to the body. A good choice for spring, summer, and warm days in autumn. Suitable for any occasion and envelops the wearer in a soft and silky cocoon. I can't think of a specific age group to which I could categorize the fragrance.
Like most bottles from the brand, this one impresses with good craftsmanship, elegant design, and the spray head works very well too.
A beautiful and natural berry scent. Light and unobtrusive. Elegant and warm. I can't call it wild. But the berries contained definitely are. They come across as not artificial at all.
Great comment that really brings the scent to life... I couldn't help but think of a luxurious silk scarf that softly hugs the wearer while reading. But no matter, your berry-strong comment definitely deserves a trophy!
I'm not really into berries, as you know ;-), but thanks for your lovely, precise comment, and congrats on rocking the berries so well :-D. Berry trophy!
I'm not really into berry scents, but you've described this fragrance excellently once again. I'll get around to trying the Mecheris someday too. Gold star for the berry cream!
