In the Foam Bath of Fragrance Feelings

Finally, I managed to bring this boy to my nose, and I must say, it's a fine little scent. It starts fresh-maritime, with nutmeg grounding it into a fresh-spicy fragrance. Notably, at the very beginning, there is a distinct alcoholic note that comes through. Whether the alcohol in this fragrance simply evaporates poorly, I can't quite define.
Then it becomes very piney - but full throttle! The pine makes no secret of saying "Here I am" and competes with the cedar for dominance. However, the pine is the superior part. It gives it a bit of an old-school vibe, but interesting.
After the conifers have been slightly trimmed, this fragrance reveals itself to be surprisingly multifaceted. It doesn't have much on the ingredient list, which makes it all the more astonishing that it presents itself as both floral and slightly powdery, balsamic, and creamy. How is that, with so few ingredients - that's probably the secret of the creators. I like it a lot! Yes, it does remind me a bit of a foam bath, not the one with the fir needles, but of a blue substance whose name I can't quite recall right now. However, it also reminds me of another fragrance that you wouldn't expect at all, which I only discovered by chance as I tested both in parallel: the Eau de Toilette by Aramis. Yes, they are quite different. While the classic is rather herbal and citrusy, Kenzo Homme comes across softer, cozier. One could almost say it could also be a reinterpretation of that classic. Cistus gives the fragrance something warm and soft right in the middle; the sandalwood doesn't dim that down but rather creates a pleasant "bed," never feeling too dry, as can often be the case with woody scents. Fine fragrance.
The sillage is very good in the first hours; it lingers on clothing for days without being annoying. On the skin, it disappears after 8-10 hours, so endurance is definitely present.
