Knize Ten is one of those fragrances that I sometimes wish I could embody. The images that the Viennese scent conjures in my mind are strict, old-fashioned, bureaucratic... yet at the same time warm-hearted, fashionable, and almost aristocratic in elegance. Personally, I find it hard to categorize, and even though I would love to call Ten my own, I still don’t know if and when I can or should wear it.
On one hand, I see this as a typical office scent for professions that require a suit, of course. Compared to Aramis (where this aspect stands out even more), Ten feels like the good Sunday fragrance that you only apply sparingly once a week and enjoy, like a fine Scotch.
Knize Ten strikes me as both distant and familiar at the same time. A fragrance that politely yet firmly indicates the way forward. It’s like one of those characters who face all problems with the necessary calmness, with the motto: "Well, that's just how it is. No big deal." When I think about how it affects my surroundings when I wear it, I can't come to a definitive conclusion. Am I too young for Ten, not posh enough, too modern, or just not the right type for it? Perhaps further testing will reveal the answers.
