Unfortunately, I expected more. I actually like the brand.

I didn't think it was bad. However, the last spark just didn't ignite.

Yeah, exactly, it just doesn't click.

That sounds pretty good, Ambre Fetiche is always a solid reference for me. I'll keep it on my wishlist for now.

Somewhere there was a slight musty note hidden in there that prevented greater enthusiasm.

Yes, exactly. Dull-spicy-musty.

I wouldn't necessarily need it to be sour.

Just a hint. I find it a bit clunky.

Amber can definitely be bold and oriental for me, because that's how I want it when I'm in the mood for amber. This one probably wouldn't suit me.
Translated · Show originalShow translation

It's not really that extreme though :-)

I feel the same way. Amber needs to have a punch like a nice deep, loud bass.

I love it a lot, no matter the weather!
For me, it’s more fine-powdery than creamy, nothing sharp.
Translated · Show originalShow translation
Eggi37Eggi37 2 years ago
Yes, "powdery" fits too. A mix of both.
I'm happy for you :-)

Still on my watchlist, even though the references aren't exactly among my favorite amber scents. A sour note could also be tricky.
Translated · Show originalShow translation
Eggi37Eggi37 2 years ago
Hmm, then maybe it’s even less your thing, or because of the spice, it’s actually just right for you.

I would definitely like it... I'm not necessarily shy about sweet & creamy.
Translated · Show originalShow translation
Eggi37Eggi37 2 years ago
I find the base a bit too flat. They could add more elements like smoke, oud, etc.

I don't like my amber too creamy and sweet either ;-)
Translated · Show originalShow translation
Eggi37Eggi37 2 years ago
Not too much, the spice and all that counteract it. So it's not as cheesy as today's ambers. The base, however, goes deeper.

I find it a bit too chaotic at the beginning. Only gradually does the amber warmth unfold.

Fits well with the amber scents of its time. Quite green and earthy with patchouli. Reminds me of fragrances like Ambre 114, Ambre Fétiche, Ambre Précieux. However, the spice here feels a bit disorganized and somewhat bulky. Ambre Précieux has a lot more finesse, and its amber blend is softer and more soul-stirring.
The rose brings a bit of light into the darkness, but also a hint of sourness, like geranium.
When the spice settles, the base turns into a musky, sweet vanilla with a resinous creaminess. A bit too creamy and sweet for my taste.
