7.5Scent

Vegetable Garden, Part II…..

MUSC AMARANTE is another fragrance from the new "Le Potager" series, which is dedicated to individual vegetables……

Here, it is the Beetroot.

The scent starts citrusy-fruity and slightly peppery……after just a few seconds, the Beetroot joins in with a distinctly pleasant earthy and subtly sweet note……

This earth does not remind one of a grave, nor of musty decay…..

Rather, this earth exudes the rich-aromatic scent of dark potting soil that has just been freshly raked……

Fine Ambrette and silky Musk "air out" and "lift" the darker earthy tones……

According to the manufacturer's specifications, Vetiver and Ambergris are also included as additional fragrance components in MUSC AMARANTE…..

I can perceive the Vetiver quite well at the base in the form of a lasting freshness…..though it does not stand out prominently…….

Ambergris, on the other hand, I cannot perceive in isolation…….it may reveal itself in the gentle, soft, and rather dark character of the fragrance……

Despite its earthy character, MUSC AMARANTE remains consistently delicate and airy……

Like IRIS DE GRIS from the "Le Potager" series, this fragrance also becomes intimately and almost completely "transparent" within a maximum of 2 hours……

What remains is merely a delicate diffuse veil that only faintly recalls the fulminant opening……

I can totally relate to your description here, almost 100% for this potager. I think it's well done, but I don't like it as much as the iris from the line. I'm curious to see if you'll have more vivid reviews of "the new vegetable" coming up. I've only ordered 2 samples myself, but now I think the whole line is worth testing. Thanks for the nuanced - and for me, very fitting - review!

The world belongs to the brave! Next time I cook borscht, I'll keep that in mind. I've never wanted to smell like it before, but you described it very vividly here.

Very informative description here as well! I don't think I could pick out those nuances like that.

Earthy beetroot - would be the most interesting one from the line for me, but probably not as a scent on my skin. Thanks for the review!

You described it fantastically as always, but I suspect it wouldn't score higher than a 7 for me.

Nice comment! Yes, people are definitely divided on beetroot. I don't like eating it at all, but in a fragrance, it sounds much better...

I really like eating beetroot, but incorporating it into a fragrance seems strange at first glance. However, the way you describe it, it sounds wearable...!

As a salad, yes, but I wouldn't want to wear it.

Again quite interesting and informative...
You can chase me with beetroot just like Susan with oud... No, absolutely not my vegetable scent. I'd rather have a fragrance from the crypt. Oud or something like that 🙂

I could like that, the way you describe it. I'm thinking about it. I mean the sample set.

You've described it very nicely. However, I'm also skeptical about beetroot - for example, I didn't get along with the popular Kyoto from Diptyque.

I can only handle earthiness in minimal doses - with iris scents. Beetroot is a nightmare for me, even if it seems to be trendy right now. Thanks.

I don't like eating beetroot, but I find the note pleasant in the scent. You don't seem to convince me, though.

I do like beetroot, both to eat and in fragrance. But you're not really convinced here either.

Also nice with the amber. I'm curious. Smelling instead of gardening ;)
