Vanilla in a cardamom-green morning coat enters the set
and sweats vinegar water

of the art wood frame meant for her.

Just tested it - I like it up to the faux wood frame, but then...

Thankfully, I don't have vinegar here 馃槄 I find it rather unremarkable, but quite nice...

@Jeob Yes, that's true, sometimes you develop certain unshakeable preferences for specific elements. It becomes non-negotiable then 馃槄

@CharlAmbre I increasingly believe that it's always the same scent that my nose creatively categorizes as "Aha, vinegar shelf." I think Another13 has it too, but on steroids 馃槄

The synthetic wood bothered me too.

I really like it, but this is getting criminal. To be fair: it seems to be one of those scents that my nose just can't handle; I think I'm pretty much alone in my vinegar note here.

Where does the vinegar water come from?

I wonder that too. To be fair: it seems hardly anyone else can smell it, maybe it鈥檚 my skin鈥檚 self-defense reflexes reading 'Timbersilk' in the pyramid and preemptively going "sour" ;)

What a pity.. A darker Eau Duelle would have been nice.

Did I just murder one of your favorites? 馃槵 If it helps: my nose is a) creative in smelling b) a bit of a lightweight when it comes to poorly crafted scents.

Synthetic wood is a total no-go for me as well. I think the quality of the laboratories varies a lot.

I feel the same way. The lack of quality doesn't necessarily relate to the sharp synthetic notes, but in my opinion, it's more about the choice of ingredients in general (like Baliflora, Vanagloria, Limone, for example).

I don't know much about the house, but I haven't encountered the prominent synthetic notes in their fragrances so far.

No one should be caught off guard in a bathrobe, not even the vanilla. **Timbersilk** and **Karmawood** sound like nice notes, but really (not!)

Which brings us to the confirmed principle: Watch out for test tubes in the pyramid that end with "-wood." (I'll lovingly add "timber-" at the beginning.)

Yes, it leans towards Eau Duelle, luckily without the vinegar for me. I remember it being quite pleasant, though it's been a few years.

I didn't get vinegar, but there was a nasty synthetic wood note. I found Santal 33 by Le Labo to be sour.

Bizarre. During my first test a few months ago, I thought the sample was gone when a strong whiff of vinegar hit my nose. Another sample, same effect: slightly sweaty, vinegar-like in the top notes. It's possible that my skin chemistry is sabotaging it, as many noses perceive it much more favorably. However, my skin chemistry is relatively innocent when it comes to the synthetic wood. It really stings. A lot. What lies beneath all that chaos could have been a smoky, quite beautiful, slightly darker vanilla in the style of Eau Duelle with a bit more love. The idea is there, but in my opinion, the execution is pretty messed up.

I also found it sweaty, artificial, and unpleasant. I expected much more.

Don't worry about it. :-) At first, I could handle Vanhera. Now the bottle is sold out. I couldn't stand the stuffy vanilla anymore.
