The Vanilla Mistress
Let's start with a look at the name of this thoroughly exciting fragrance, which couldn't be more appropriate for the current season. "Vanhera"
"Van" = vanilla and "Hera" translated from Latin means "mistress".
The concept of the name probably has nothing to do with Hera, the deity and guardian of conjugal sexuality, because Hera's attribute was, among other things, the pomegranate and not the vanilla bean.
I find the name very very fitting, but more about that later.

Vanhera is beautifully embedded in a black-anthracite gift box with label and thus creates a feeling of high quality right from the start.
Vanhera's flacon looks high quality and is dressed with a black banderole and a black cap, so it's quite appropriate for a mistress!
I always find it quite difficult to judge the scent of vanilla in a perfume, because usually the whole thing is much too feminine or the queen of spices seems one-dimensional and boring.
It's different with this fragrance from Laboratorio Olfattivo.

Vanhera manages to enslave other scents and use them to make the vanilla DNA more exciting. At the same time, this results in the fragrance moving much more in the direction of "unisex".

The vanilla is fighting a battle here with the pepper, cardamom, sandalwood and cinnamon. Knowing full well that she is always superior to the quartet. As a result, the vanilla appears a little darker and more multidimensional. This makes it more wearable for a man, in my opinion, if the preference for vanilla is there. However, one thing has to be mentioned in all clarity, the sceptre does not give the vanilla out of the hand here!

I find the silage to be extremely potent, Vanhera also has a good shelf life.

So if you are looking for a great and exciting vanilla scent at Christmas time, this is the place to be. Due to the great outer packaging Vanhera is also very well suited as a Christmas present.

Vanhera - Vanilla dream from Italy
For me, the current best vanilla fragrance there is.
Combines beautifully vanilla with woody aromas. There is no fragrance of this kind known to me. Hardly any other fragrance lets so much the vanilla out without being too feminine. In addition, the very masculine wood notes - a dream.
Unfortunately, the durability is not the best. But quite still justifiable in this price segment

Time for vanilla?
Actually I was looking for a fragrance for my sweetheart when I came across this dark bottle while browsing the net and finally got stuck. Something aroused my curiosity and a quick glance at Parfumo further intensified this feeling. The name seemed to me to be made up of two parts. On the one hand, the obvious vanilla, and on the other, the ominous "hera". After a short research (and refuting the obvious goddess reference) the Albanian meaning remained: Time.

But back to the perfume: Woody-sweet as a characterization did not occur in my young fragrance horizon, but it sounded so exciting! Succumbing to the temptation I ordered it. Blindly of course. Like a child on Christmas morning, I tore open the package a few days later and sprayed the enclosed test strip with anticipation.

There are repeated warnings against blind purchases, and some samples of fragrances have already taught me not to be too brave. So I was greeted here by a pungent, medicinal note, which offered a light wood note - but lacked any beauty at all. Even the self-imposed waiting time didn't change anything at first.

After a short time of reflection, I remembered one of the first blogs I read here: Myth of skin chemistry. Especially the point "test stripes vs. skin". So I decided to apply Vanhera quite normally. Even on the skin the medical note dominates in my nose, but in contrast to the test strip, this is quickly replaced by the vanilla-wood-icellow-sugar cloud already mentioned in statements here.

Vanhera doesn't have to fear the comparison to the good Madagascan vanilla in the kitchen cupboard - she comes damn close! Due to the wood she is even more slowed down in the already more discreet sweetness, so that I would sign the predicate "male vanilla" which has already been issued without any restrictions.
Although I myself said subtle sweetness, which is especially in contrast to many other vanilla scents, I still feel as if I had been generous with the pudding sugar when baking the waffles - please don't be fooled here.

But already after the first wearing we became close friends. I never dreamed that the first blind purchase in my perfume history would produce a fragrance that I consider worthy of a signature. I'm still a little worried that the warm days could drive a wedge between us. But until then, I'm going to enjoy as many days as possible and continue to let myself be called "Vanilla Bear".

Whether it is the time for vanilla or not, everyone has to decide for themselves. But if you want to indulge in this fragrance, Vanhera would be a more than suitable candidate to serve as a companion...

Spicy, sweet... simply beautiful
I was looking for the perfect vanilla fragrance for everyday use. Actually, Vanitas was at the top of my shopping list. But since it would be a bit potent for everyday use....

However, I and my partner had ended up in a small perfumery in Berlin and I thought I would ask what was recommended to me here.
The requirements were as follows:
Vanilla should be distinctly smellable
Long lasting
Suitable for everyday use
Not overly sweet and sugary

The gentleman handed me a few fragrances. Vanhera was the first and I stuck with it despite further testing.

At the beginning, the fragrance is spicy, peppery and not at all vanilla-like. After a few minutes on the skin, it becomes softer and softer until after about 1/2-1h the vanilla really takes off. It is soft, it is creamy. It feels like a cashmere sweater.
The fragrance develops further and further throughout the day. From a spicy blend to a true vanilla wonder with a woody undertone.
For me, this is actually the most suitable vanilla fragrance for everyday use. And not only wearable in fall and winter like others of its kind. I wear it again and again, especially in spring, and it will certainly be my companion on cool summer days.

Please make an edible version
Vanhera is so good!

It has a very high quality vanilla absolute which includes its bean, and this makes this juice smell heaven, not like a cake at all, but like a vanilla bean… woody, dark, rich, brown, almost liquorish.

It feels like you’re having a vanilla milkshake with its bean, woods and pepper. Wonderful smell, you can’t stop smelling you.

On a side note, i found it more of a skin scent, does not project at all even if it lasts a good amount of hours.

Strange combo of sichuan pepper and synthetic woods (karmawood?) That gives an almost burnt wood feel. The vanilla is in the background. 2/5
