Vanhera is so good!

It has a very high quality vanilla absolute which includes its bean, and this makes this juice smell heaven, not like a cake at all, but like a vanilla bean… woody, dark, rich, brown, almost liquorish.

It feels like you’re having a vanilla milkshake with its bean, woods and pepper. Wonderful smell, you can’t stop smelling you.

On a side note, i found it more of a skin scent, does not project at all even if it lasts a good amount of hours.

spicy marshmallows

The opening of this has a very prominent spicy Sichuan pepper note but blended with the aroma of a spicy vanilla marshmallow…yes a spicy marshmallow lol. The spices here blend together in a warm and aromatic way but they feel smooth. The heart of this is sweet and comforting. The cinnamon is softly warm and the cashmere is softly cozy with a powdered sandalwood. The base woody notes are very prominent in making a warm and amber forward powdered musk. I typically don’t enjoy amber heavy scents but this one works, it’s an almost fluffy amber. With an added sweet vanilla it makes for a woody, toasty, powdery vanilla marshmallow type of musk. *I will say this is a tad bit cloying though

Black is beauty or my 3 phases of Vanhera

The first scent from the black series Nerotic didn't quite appeal to me. It felt somewhat blunt and dark, lacking a bit of charisma. I enjoyed smelling it on the back of my hand, but I didn't feel comfortable wearing it; it's more for fragrance fans than for daily use. Vanhera should be more moderate, and today I wore it for the third time... and yes, it is absolutely successful!
For me, Vanhera is an enchanting blend of Herod, Bois Dore, and Grand Soir. No... it doesn't contain any of them in their entirety, but rather extracts from the fragrances. It's like the fusion of the best parts of the scents. No... you won't get a sugar shock; everything is much more moderate, somehow finer. The tobacco is slightly sweetened, but not a penetrating shisha tobacco. The tonka/vanilla is much more subtle and slightly dirty, not animalistic... but smoked through mild, soft smoke... like lightly soot-covered. For me, it is the most beautiful men's vanilla so far, even more beautiful than the Eau Duelle EDP version. The aromatic woods fit wonderfully here and provide balance. I could almost swear that it involves the often slightly sweetened gaiac wood. It comes very close to my gaiac reference "Gaiac" by Micallef. The amber, the heart of Grand Soir, does not come across as honey-sweet here, but rather balsamic. Just like the entire scent has a creamy-balsamic character.
Curiously, Vanhera smells different to me in 3 ways. When I smell it only on the back of my hand, the vanilla is much more prominent for me, which I didn't like as much. When I spray it on my neck, it smells as described above. The smoky-spicy wood note comes out much stronger. If you spray the scent in the room and then walk into the office like today, it has almost classic masculine traits in the air, reminiscent of fine aftershave... really interesting to be surprised by a scent like that. It shows once again the difference it makes to wear fragrances "correctly" and not just sniff them on the back of your hand. Too quickly and somewhat prematurely, I would have probably put it in the "a bit too sweet" drawer, and I would have regretted that.
Vanhera is a flawless scent, a wonderful companion, probably more for the cooler and cold days, but still wearable in spring, even though I tend to reach for lighter and less dense fragrances then. The longevity is perfectly timed at 6-7 hours, the sillage is not overwhelming on the body, but in the room, it really has volume. For me, just right, so I won't be saturated by the aromatic notes too quickly. I like all 3 fragrances mentioned above, but Vanhera is my favorite of them all. However, for fans of classic masculine scents, it probably isn't for them. Unfortunately, my sample is now slowly nearing its end after 2 weeks... and I'm really considering whether I should get the bottle; I'm still skeptical since it feels like spring is already at the door. But I can never say no anyway....;-)))!

The scent evokes opaque & diffuse sensations within me.
Warm, grounding, emotional - captivating - magnetic.
Spicy-soft - peppery, with leather nuances, woody-smoky, with a hint of cinnamon, I also catch a bit of mint in my nose. Cashmere wood ~ soft - silky & smooth. Creamy dark smoky vanilla ~ with wonderful amber balm. So soft & cuddly, like a cashmere scarf. A meditative cushion.

It touches me, with all its heart & together with my soul.

The sillage is now rather mediocre - it doesn’t have to roar, it is perfect just as it is!

The Vanilla Mistress

Let’s start by taking a look at the name of this quite exciting fragrance, which couldn’t be more fitting for the current season. "Vanhera".

"Van" = vanilla and "Hera" translates from Latin to mean "mistress".
With Hera, the goddess and guardian of marital sexuality, the naming concept likely has nothing to do with it, as Hera’s attribute was, among other things, the pomegranate and not the vanilla pod.
I find the name very, very fitting, but more on that later.

Vanhera is beautifully nestled in a black-anthracite gift box with a label, creating a sense of quality right from the start.
Vanhera's bottle looks high-quality and is dressed with a black band and a black cap, quite befitting for a mistress!

I always find it quite difficult to assess the vanilla note in a perfume, as it often comes off too feminine or the queen of spices appears one-dimensional and boring.
Not so with this fragrance from Laboratorio Olfattivo.

Vanhera manages to enslave other fragrance notes and use them to make the vanilla DNA more exciting. At the same time, this results in the scent moving significantly more towards "unisex".

The vanilla here is in a battle with pepper, cardamom, sandalwood, and cinnamon. Well aware of its superiority over the quartet. This ultimately leads to the vanilla appearing a bit darker and more dimensional. Therefore, in my opinion, it is also more wearable for a man, provided there is a preference for vanilla. However, one thing must be clearly stated, the scepter is not relinquished by the vanilla here!

I find the sillage to be extremely potent, and Vanhera also has good longevity.

So, anyone looking for a great and exciting vanilla scent for the Christmas season should be very well advised here. Due to the wonderful packaging, Vanhera is also perfect as a Christmas gift.
