Wonderwoods' Italian Brother

After Vanhera from the same house became one of my favorite fragrances after much back and forth, I tried to test the remaining scents from the brand.

ExplOud was the last one I got to smell. I regularly looked at the extensive yet relatively simply structured fragrance pyramid. The top notes are very spicy, the heart is floral (?), and the base, as expected, is woody/Oud-heavy. In fact, I didn't know what to expect, as the other LO fragrances, especially from the black line, did not convince me much. Eventually, I participated in a sharing and received 5ml of ExplOud after about 5 days.

With ExplOud, you can actually orient yourself quite well to the given fragrance pyramid.
The opening is very spicy and almost fresh, with pepper and nutmeg clearly noticeable, while incense is less prominent.
After about 20-30 minutes, a slightly floral note joins in, but I suspect that molecules like magnolol were rather mixed in to give the fragrance a bit more longevity, not to actively contribute to the DNA.
The base is primarily composed of sandalwood with pepper/vetiver and a touch of oud, with the pepper gradually receding into the background, making the scent a bit rounder and creamier.

All in all, a beautiful spicy wood scent with a strong pepper opening reminiscent of Wonderwood (generally strong similarity). Beautiful craftsmanship from the house!
