Like lying on the meadow!

Take a seat, Mr. Jeheimrat!
Well, I'm glad that you didn't forget the old coriander ...
How is your esteemed well-being? And how is the esteemed Mrs. Jemahlte doing? I'm especially pleased to hear that.

What would you like?
As always? Fashionable? Shaving, perhaps?
Of course, but right away …
Coffee …? Cream? Sugar?
May I offer you a piece of Trudchen's gooseberry cake …? Freshly baked!
Of course! Here you go, right away ...

So, I will wrap this cloth around you as always, so nothing spills on that nice shirt ...
I must compliment Mr. Jeheimrat once again. The way you wear a white shirt, it suits you excellently! And then the stylish vest … very dapper, indeed!
Quite pompous!

What do you prefer …?
Yes, after all the rain from the last time, it's nice that the clear sky is shining down again. I do love it warm and sunny.

What do you mean?
But yes, Mr. Jeheimrat, I completely agree with you. Summer is and remains the best season!
Ah yes, I prefer to spend it in my little garden, as you know, Mr. Jeheimrat …
Out in the countryside, surrounded by nature, there is nothing to compare for a sensitive person. The peace there, along with the sunshine and the chirping of the little birds in the trees! One can let the soul dangle on the Hollywood swing. I promise you that!

So, if Mr. Jeheimrat would kindly lean his noble head back … Shorten the sides?
Of course … we will do that right away ...

Where was I?
Oh yes - comfort and sunshine and summer.
You see, Mr. Jeheimrat, when one closes their eyes in the countryside, it is inevitable that one also takes a sniff. And in the fields, one is not next to a giant field, if you know what I mean …

What do you mean?
Yes, I completely agree with you. Grass and earth and flowers, that’s it! I’m glad that Mr. Jeheimrat’s heart is opening up. And now just imagine if you could take that as a fragrance home with you.

What do you prefer?
Yes, I am of course riding my little hobby horse again, if Mr. Jeheimrat allows.
Now I always say, coriander, I always say, a truly good fragrance for a dapper man must be something classic. I am very much in favor of things that some ignorant people today call old-fashioned.

What do you prefer?
Yes, those so-called modern waters are all far too sweet and too intrusive for me personally. It’s downright penetrating when some unrefined oaf creates a cloud behind them that tries to claw into the nose like liquid cotton candy with bronchial force. That is not a fragrance, that is slop and an imposition.
I always say to myself, coriander, I always say, anyone who pours such a brew on their shirt and bothers their surroundings has no manners.

No, no, you are completely right, Mr. Jeheimrat. Especially in the warm season, it must be something light, fine, and discreet.
And as luck would have it …
Well, you must have already thought of this, I’m sure. Mr. Jeheimrat already knows the old coriander. You see, I have a real rarity here. This is a water that will make you kneel! I give you my word on that, as true as I am called coriander!

What do you prefer ...?
But yes, of course …
Just a moment, let me take this tablecloth away.

So, where was I? Oh yes - kneeling and waters.
If I may just put a drop on your wrist …
Well?
Indeed, this is extraordinary. And indeed extraordinarily good.
Already the transparent citrus top note, as we connoisseurs call it - but yes, indeed!
Mandarin, very good! Mr. Jeheimrat has a nose for it …
Yes, there is also orange in it, and a lot of lemon too. As someone whispered to me who knows about these things, they also added petitgrain. A little joke, if Mr. Jeheimrat allows. I mean, of course, petitgrain. That grounds the whole thing.
Yes indeed, neroli is also included, of course, but not as clumsily as in other waters. They also stirred in some grapefruit, which remains discreetly in the background, as it should.
Everything is held together by galbanum and lavender, as I have heard from unusually well-informed circles. So I give you my word, I have never sniffed such a pleasantly fresh yet classic top note in any other brew.
The citrus remains largely as it is, and that pleases me the most. It becomes slightly earthy, but so discreet that the whole thing remains balanced. It is round, it is fresh, but not cold or harsh, it is summer as I have always imagined it. It really lifts your spirits! My cousin Alfred says that too, and he is right, he is.

What do you mean ...?
Yes, the oak moss is a good solid base, and the vetiver together with the rose frames everything without being intrusive. Then for the finish, just a bit of sage, and there you have a water that smells just like lying on the meadow in the July sky.
It is green, but not bitter, it is citrusy, but not sweet, and underneath there is a little hint of dry earth.
Pompous!

But yes, but yes, this is the special thing! I must assure you that this noble brew is extremely long-lasting. If you put three drops on your wrist, you will have it all day long ...

A drop on the backside - this is now a bittersweet drop, as I must explain to Mr. Jeheimrat.
This extraordinary brew is unfortunately no longer produced. That should be understood!
But I always say to myself, coriander, I always say, one should not throw in the towel right away.
There are still one or two little bottles here and there.
In the bathroom - I have now treated myself to a bottle. Wonderful!
Trudchen did make that little pout again and looked sternly, and then she said that a scruffy fellow like me wouldn’t need such a fine fragrance anymore, she said. But even if she is often right, that good Trudchen, I see it differently now.
Mr. Jeheimrat knows: in old age, foolishness is of no use …

You see, Mr. Jeheimrat, if you wear your stylish summer outfit on a Sunday stroll along the promenade, with a Panama hat and linen jacket, then there is nothing better than this little fragrance to go with it.
I give you my word on that, as true as I am called coriander!
Just sniff it ... it’s just like lying in the countryside under the July sky ...
Do you agree with me …?
You see, I thought so. You always remind me that Mr. Jeheimrat has such excellent taste ...

Do you like it? Another drop behind the ear …?
But no need to thank me! It is an honor for me!
Mr. Jeheimrat knows my motto: Everything for the esteemed clientele!

Most heartfelt thanks, Mr. Jeheimrat!
Do honor me again soon!
And best regards to Mrs. Jemahlte!

I had never heard the word Schotentoffel before.
Korianke has made the scent sound so appealing that I regret his opinion, even though I don't know him at all.

Wonderful coriander episode about a special scent I had almost forgotten. While reading, I can always hear the soft clattering of scissors and see the salon in my mind (beautifully old-fashioned with all that goes with it) Somma & Blümkens trophy!

Wonderful! Amazing! It makes you want to throw your petticoat in the toilet right away! The scent also sounds quite extraordinary. Too bad it's no longer available. Maybe "City" and "River" are still available?

What a relief that Korianke - like all hairdressers - can style toupees again, otherwise Mr. Jeheimrat would have ended up with a hippie hairstyle. :D

I definitely like it... or however you would say that correctly in Berlin dialect. I just read it out loud to myself...

My heart just skipped a beat... Delicious, Mr. Korianke and Mr. Jeheimrat! I’ve never heard of this little fragrance before, so I can't really mourn it. But I probably would have liked it. Still, I could pull my hair out when my favorite scents disappear from the market.

You see, Korianke, I wouldn't act like an uncouth little brat either. I would make a little pout, scrunch up my nose, and look a bit stern.
