It's not true love, but we can still be friends!

Lalique L'Amour has been on sale for a long time now at Not*** for 31.90 € for 100 ml. Pretty packaging, beautiful bottle, and the fragrance notes promised something good. So I had to go for it. Nothing could go wrong, I thought.

Described here as floral-fresh, and there as floral-woody. Which one is more accurate? Well, floral-fresh suits me better!

L'Amour starts pleasantly citrusy with bergamot and neroli. Not too citrusy. Here it is somewhat softened by the rose. I can't really pick it out, but it’s probably responsible for the more delicate opening and takes a bit of the edge off the bergamot and neroli.

This stays for a while until L'Amour becomes a bit more sweet and romantic - more in line with its name.
With the white flowers, it becomes a bit more floral and slightly sweet. The citrus remains, but now it pulls back a bit. From here on, I like L'Amour! I don't explicitly smell any of the mentioned flowers. The green of the gardenia mixed with the (still pleasant) sweetness of the tuberose and the floral jasmine creates the blend. This keeps it from being too opulent and is exactly why it is floral-fresh!!

And for me, it ends right there. Musk makes L'Amour a bit creamy-soft just before the end. But I don't perceive any sandalwood or cedar. Longevity and sillage are average. About 4-5 hours of wear. I can't really assess the sillage, as I haven't been asked about it yet. But it is also a fragrance for the warmer days of the year.

Conclusion: Lalique L'Amour is a well-made fragrance. For the price - if you're looking for a subtle scent for spring/summer - you can't go wrong (especially if you like white flowers).

I find it very similar to "Versense" by Versace, just without a sharp undertone and warmer. But a 30 ml bottle is more than enough for me :)

Sometimes I find it annoying about Versense that it has a sharp note at times. I'm considering getting Lamour.
