Another top candidate that falls through my filter

I read true praise here, and the ingredient list without woods, leather, and flowers sounds interesting to me. There are certainly more experienced noses here than mine, but the lavender I know from my terrace smells different. And by that, I mean: completely different! Maybe I have less imagination than most of my fellow commentators!? ;-)

I don't want to deny this fragrance its class; I would probably even pick it out among dozens of others. But I'll keep it short: "Hypnose" is not my thing! I actually want to like the scent, but it just doesn't get there, not even after an hour. Quite cloying, albeit soft in appearance, rather intrusive, and with a harsh undertone in my nose... and incredibly sweet, even without vanilla, cinnamon, or tonka bean. Sounds strange, but that's how it is!

I compare "Hypnose" to "Présence" by Montblanc, as this is probably the sweetest fragrance in my collection: much more pleasant, much "fresher," and therefore much more wearable for me. However, with "Hypnose," I just can't shake the feeling that I'm dressed up as someone I'm not. I'll definitely be steering clear of sweet-oriental scents in the future...

No offense: I can understand if someone is into it. For me, however, the hypnosis has failed. My subconscious advised me against it and said: Smelling "nice" doesn't count! :-)

That was disappointing for me too, especially since the rating was (significantly) higher about 2 years ago. For me, it has nothing more than industrial lavender from cleaning products. Hypnose is fundamentally highly synthetic.
