Jasmine stretches with cat claws
on powdery, unsweet flowers
in the magic of physically rough musk
soft-sandy
with an amber-tender base

Oh really, Lancome's Magie is available without Noire? Sounds just as wonderful as the famous sister.

Must have been the predecessor (see below). It's great too!

It's great that there are still beautiful ones from Lancome!

Should it be "Gab" here...?

Probably too animalistic for me.

Could be, it's clear here.

I wore the old Magie Noire a lot in the 1980s...

For me, this scent has a discordant note on me, but others found it very magical on me 😉

That's always exciting, but it has to be enjoyable to wear!

A great scent with that certain underlying naughtiness.
The little series from Lancôme is fantastic. They really showed what they can do, or could do.

Yes, they were good - it's a shame what happened today.

Interesting, because the only one I know from them is the black magic, which was great and you're just reminding me of it.

I get along well with Jasminum officinale. The Sambac is often too intense for me.
Translated · Show originalShow translation
ElAttarineElAttarine 1 year ago
This is the slightly indolic type, enhanced by civet.

I saw that the Sikkim was better for you.

It might be a bit "wild-cat-like" for me, but it also sounds unexpectedly great for the vintage.

ElAttarineElAttarine 1 year ago
Yes, that they did something like that back in 2005...

Well, I would find the appearance of the cat claws a bit too impatient.

I really like it sometimes when it's animalistic right from the start.

Exactly. In the meantime, I can accept jasmine, but it definitely won't be my favorite flower 😉
Translated · Show originalShow translation
ElAttarineElAttarine 1 year ago
Could be worth a try if you don't find the jasmine animalic too strong.

I wore Magie Noire a lot in the 1980s... This one is less sharp and a bit more floral, but beautifully animalic!

Surprise! 50s/60s vibes with a clear animalic note (I suspect there's more in there that's not mentioned, leaning towards civet), indolic and elegant jasmine, lightly powdery unsweetened flowers, sexy musk, and sensual amber. I wouldn't have guessed 2005 here either, just like with Sikkim. As @Chanelle writes, Magie was the predecessor of the now reformulated Magie Noire and was unfortunately only briefly re-released in 2005 as part of Lancôme's "La Collection" series.
Thanks to @Ergoproxy!
