Unisex love story !

"What lasts long will finally be good" would also be a fitting title for this comment. Because by now, this Lanvin has matured into a true treasure for me, which I initially never thought would happen. Here’s my love story:

Éclat d'Arpège pH was a blind buy, and after getting to know its siblings, I wonder a bit about my courage in hindsight. It all started with L'Homme Sport, a rather appealing fragrance, but for me, it had too much sage. Then the well-rated Lanvin L'Homme with a score of 7.2 moved in, which I liked for 1-2 weeks at first, but soon it revealed itself to be a stuffy, penetrating liaison (perhaps a question of dosage? Whatever, long sold). But I didn't want to give up yet. Because there was still a sister ...

And her name was Éclat d'Arpège. But wait, that would indeed be a lady, and with a rating of 7.4 and over 200 users, quite an attractive one at that.

But who you are talking about here is a gentleman, my dear. Pour Homme = For men, comprende?

Ohhh ... But it does smell a bit sweet, probably because of the violet in it, est-ce possible? (thanks Google, I don't want to be seen as a French pretender). Speaking of French; for me, the most beautiful language in the world; especially from a woman's mouth. Swoon ...

... and back to the text: FabianO titles his comment "Intrusive Cleaner Lemon." Well, that's the fate of one-night ..., uh ... one-min-stand learners, who just take a quick sniff of a fragrance and then slam the door shut. So nothing can develop from that. Because initially, a decent lemon comes through, but it is by no means overly strong or overpowering. In other words: The excitement of the first date fades after about 1-2 minutes, and as a citrus-fresh fan, I even like it, whether it comes from a cleaner or not ;-)

Then, after about 20 minutes, the fragrance develops alongside the persistently light fruity freshness a beautiful soft aquatic note, which broadens it and now creates the base for its special flair, which also makes it lovely: the violet.

And I might have needed to get used to this aquatic-fluffy floral note, which took some time. Weeks, months, ... Because obviously, I had different expectations of this fragrance. But today, almost four months after our blind date, we are firmly bonded, even though I occasionally sniff around: at the unfortunately little-noticed Sun Men Sport, which also scores points with fruity violets for me. But the Jil Sander is spicier, which Éclat d'Arpège pH is not, but it is ventilated by its bright aqua freshness that persists throughout the entire fragrance journey, perhaps slightly underscored by jasmine and rosemary.

And then the Frenchman plays one last trump card that completes the love story entirely. Because it proves its loyalty through a lonnng lasting power (on clothing) and becomes quieter, finer, and more transparent as time goes on. This is thanks to the cedar and sandalwood, which create a very nice base combination. So from about hour 4, you catch a whiff of pleasantly fragrant freshness that envelops you, yes, embraces you - but never intrusive (the mistake is to smell this fragrance directly on the skin or clothing in the first hours. But it needs and projects half an arm's length, and is therefore ideal for leisure and work).

Conclusion: A beautiful spring and autumn Lanvin, which hardly shows its light synthetic nature and is always a welcome change from my other fragrances - lasting up to 10 hours (when worn on clothing). So it is also suitable for longer outings and not just for speed-dating ;-) I also recommend Éclat d'Arpège pH as a unisex fragrance. Because its warm, slightly sweet fruity violet aura is surely also something for the female gender. So don’t be too quickly deterred by its current rating of 5.7, but test the fragrance for yourself first. But give it time ... And whether it is worn by a man or a woman doesn’t matter, as it seems to be suitable either way for a

Hey there! Just wondering, does it resemble the mentioned fragrance twin L'Homme Libre? I'm still looking for a fruity violet scent. In Libre, the violet leaf was too dominant for me...

My problem with fragrances that only become really nice after a while: "Where do I put the guy for the first half hour?"

Interesting. I think you shouldn't just rely on the reviews here. A lot of things that are highly rated turn out to be duds in real life, and vice versa.
You should always trust your own judgment. As for whether this scent is for me, I have no idea. I've never come across it before.
