Amazing price value ratio fragrance for spring summer.
Eclat d'arpège is a fresh, ozonic, molecular, modern, acquatic scent. It has a floral facet that makes it unisex and clean and round thanks to the sandalwood. The frargance begins with a hint of watermelon and continues into an aromatic green heart thanks to the violet leaf and rosemary. The scent closes musky and creamy. The longevity is even more than 10 hours as a skinscent, perfect for hot spring and summer amazing purchase for the price.

Amazing opening, but awful drydown
I absolutely love the opening, a mix of lemon and mandarin, here is 9.5 for citrus lovers.

But after that the smell becomes quite artificial and rather unpleasant, like dish-cleaner.

Nothing special about longevity or sillage, anyway if it fails in the smell you don´t want it to last.

By the Pool by Lanvin
Lanvin does not wander through lavender fields this time to serve up a summery refreshment. Nevertheless, an unusual direction creates a very French recommendation for a pleasantly mischievous summer.
For further discussion of the fragrance, I invite you to the pool for a Petit Rien and Suze on ice.
I’m already playing Niagara’s “Pendant que les champs brûlent” - unfortunately, the fields are burning in this dry summer in France.
But let’s hope for rain soon!
And now, let’s dive into the fragrance experience!

Mme Constant seems to have almost completely banished lavender from her creations, which makes her work incredibly interesting. To exile one of the most important elements of perfumery takes courage and skill.
And here she proves it for a house that is otherwise more traditionally oriented towards men’s fragrances.

The bottle is characteristically simple and elegant, topped with a metallic, industrial-looking cap featuring three prominent, jagged stripes. Unfortunately, I miss the house's insignia, but the long inscription of the fragrance name likely left no room for it. They placed it very discreetly in the lower part of the transparent acrylic box, which protects the bottle like a display piece.
So everything points to an unusual creation: the contrast between the bottle and cap, the concealment of Lanvin, the complete absence of lavender. Only the color of the liquid is familiar to me, just a bit lighter this time.

The opening of the fragrance resembles the storming of the Bastille and fits perfectly with the midsummer of July. An explosion of citrus sweeps away all surrounding scents.
An extremely rebellious mandarin calls for an uprising. It comes across sweetly, you can smell the half-naked flesh of the fruit.
This Marianne gives her best against the conservative palace guards, but she probably won’t succeed alone.
Just a little skirmish in the olfactory organ and then off to the attack!

She gets reinforcement from the violet leaf in the heart note. This promptly arrives armed with a halberd and makes short work of royal olfactory habits.
“Aux armes, citoyens,
Formez vos batallions,
Marchons, marchons!
Qu’une lavande impure
Abreuve nos sillons!”

Yes, just like that, a leisurely lavender order in the brain has been overturned before one even realizes it.
And the new Jacobin rulers have already proclaimed a Corsican rosemary as Primus inter Pares.
Goodness, I hope this goes well!

The little Corsican initially enchants the agitated crowd with a familiar greenish and slightly spicy aroma and, following the goods shortage caused by the revolution, grudgingly offers a bit of hedonic jasmine to soothe. Nevertheless, a regiment of armed violet leaves stands by, always reminding of order. A strangely green-blue freshness cools the tempers, creating a temporarily fragile peace to establish the new order.
The people are delighted, a new elegance amidst the summer draws them in magically, all doubts are cast aside.
The council of wise men advises the citizen to let rosemary play hypnotic sounds for the people; bread and games have long proven effective for solidifying new conditions.
“La piscine” by Hypnolove from 2016 quickly sets the festive tone in the new state. Everyone dances joyfully to the cool sounds, not grasping the insidious lyrics.
Everything smells so new and fresh here. Who would be surprised, with standards soaked in white musk adorning the new grand boulevards. Here and there, faded portraits of the heroic mandarin Marianne are displayed.

And so, the fairy tale of a completed revolution could end, were it not for the little Corsican slowly but surely feeling imperial desires and seizing all power!

For dark forces have long infiltrated the happy, intoxicated people. The latter still dances merrily, unaware that the bourgeois violet leaf guard has been undermined by dubious Ambroxan woods.
2015 will go down in the annals of perfumery as a fateful year; the Ambroxan infiltration has succeeded. Resistance is futile!

Nevertheless, upright components manage to mitigate the Ambroxan influence here and hand the imperial crown to the Corsican rosemary.
From then on, a crown adorned with Ambroxan decorates all grand buildings, and official documents are sealed with it.
The elegantly synthetic shine will begin its victorious march.
Until perhaps a new generation calls for revolution again, as so often across the Rhine.

I hope the Suze on ice hasn’t gone to your head.
Shall we take a swim?
Come on, let’s dive into the water!

Unisex love story !
"What lasts long will finally be good" would also be a fitting title for this comment. Because by now, this Lanvin has matured into a true treasure for me, which I initially never thought would happen. Here’s my love story:

Éclat d'Arpège pH was a blind buy, and after getting to know its siblings, I wonder a bit about my courage in hindsight. It all started with L'Homme Sport, a rather appealing fragrance, but for me, it had too much sage. Then the well-rated Lanvin L'Homme with a score of 7.2 moved in, which I liked for 1-2 weeks at first, but soon it revealed itself to be a stuffy, penetrating liaison (perhaps a question of dosage? Whatever, long sold). But I didn't want to give up yet. Because there was still a sister ...

And her name was Éclat d'Arpège. But wait, that would indeed be a lady, and with a rating of 7.4 and over 200 users, quite an attractive one at that.

But who you are talking about here is a gentleman, my dear. Pour Homme = For men, comprende?

Ohhh ... But it does smell a bit sweet, probably because of the violet in it, est-ce possible? (thanks Google, I don't want to be seen as a French pretender). Speaking of French; for me, the most beautiful language in the world; especially from a woman's mouth. Swoon ...

... and back to the text: FabianO titles his comment "Intrusive Cleaner Lemon." Well, that's the fate of one-night ..., uh ... one-min-stand learners, who just take a quick sniff of a fragrance and then slam the door shut. So nothing can develop from that. Because initially, a decent lemon comes through, but it is by no means overly strong or overpowering. In other words: The excitement of the first date fades after about 1-2 minutes, and as a citrus-fresh fan, I even like it, whether it comes from a cleaner or not ;-)

Then, after about 20 minutes, the fragrance develops alongside the persistently light fruity freshness a beautiful soft aquatic note, which broadens it and now creates the base for its special flair, which also makes it lovely: the violet.

And I might have needed to get used to this aquatic-fluffy floral note, which took some time. Weeks, months, ... Because obviously, I had different expectations of this fragrance. But today, almost four months after our blind date, we are firmly bonded, even though I occasionally sniff around: at the unfortunately little-noticed Sun Men Sport, which also scores points with fruity violets for me. But the Jil Sander is spicier, which Éclat d'Arpège pH is not, but it is ventilated by its bright aqua freshness that persists throughout the entire fragrance journey, perhaps slightly underscored by jasmine and rosemary.

And then the Frenchman plays one last trump card that completes the love story entirely. Because it proves its loyalty through a lonnng lasting power (on clothing) and becomes quieter, finer, and more transparent as time goes on. This is thanks to the cedar and sandalwood, which create a very nice base combination. So from about hour 4, you catch a whiff of pleasantly fragrant freshness that envelops you, yes, embraces you - but never intrusive (the mistake is to smell this fragrance directly on the skin or clothing in the first hours. But it needs and projects half an arm's length, and is therefore ideal for leisure and work).

Conclusion: A beautiful spring and autumn Lanvin, which hardly shows its light synthetic nature and is always a welcome change from my other fragrances - lasting up to 10 hours (when worn on clothing). So it is also suitable for longer outings and not just for speed-dating ;-) I also recommend Éclat d'Arpège pH as a unisex fragrance. Because its warm, slightly sweet fruity violet aura is surely also something for the female gender. So don’t be too quickly deterred by its current rating of 5.7, but test the fragrance for yourself first. But give it time ... And whether it is worn by a man or a woman doesn’t matter, as it seems to be suitable either way for a

A Superfluous Cleaner Lemon and a Wasted Artistic Name
No comments yet? Well, one can gladly ignore this Lanvin in the long run.

This finely sounding French brand unfortunately hasn't left a particularly large footprint in the fragrance sector, and this vague, shallow citrus drop will not contribute to that either.

A zesty start, a lot of lemon and a bit of mandarin, but not really pleasant and natural, rather rough, sharp, and hastily thrown together.

The light blue filled bottle is as inconspicuous and trivial as the scent itself, which reveals its artificiality more and more after half an hour and is quickly fixed with Ambrofix. A bit aquatic, but largely devoid of content.

The quite artistic name "Éclat d`Arpège" certainly feels wasted and exaggerated for this lemon infusion - Lanvin should have saved it for something more spiritual, more noble.

I don't understand how this can be described as similar to Eau de Cartier. Scent, in the bottle, for spraying. Then it makes sense.

Four years between the last men's fragrance and this one, and then something so bland and unremarkable. They could have skipped this one.
