Blue Mountains - Sydney
Ascension welcomes the rising sun over the forests of the Blue Mountains in western Sydney. The scent of fir and wild thyme, which brand owner Peter "Pete" Georgiou has loved since his earliest youth. One of the reasons why he founded LAPP Fragrances in 2016 with the aim of offering modern fragrances from the heart of the Australian metropolis.

The brand currently has only two fragrances. One for the day (Ascension) and one for the evening & night (Darkness).

Just Ascension has done it to me very much with his tidy and above all clear fragrance language. He combines the best of forest scents, which always give me a feeling of "coming home" and memories of nature holidays of my childhood, just as he does something very right from my point of view. He keeps the perspective of a person in the forest.

How now?

I mean that I walk through the forest as a human being and above all perceive the totality there. Very often I feel that I have been put into the beetle's perspective when implementing the forest theme and apparently like to crawl through soil, bark and undergrowth. Here Pete consciously goes another way, which I find very portable and refreshing.

In addition, there is another component that I had long forgotten. This typical scent of wild thyme breaks up the forest into freshness and spice and lets something pleasantly herbaceous flow into Ascension.

Olfactory memories of (my) Australia 2004 are awakened.

With some melancholy and a longing for the Blue Mountains.
