... when the clouds clear, the rain moves on, and fresh, clear air is left behind, feeling as blue as the sky now shows. The waves are moderate, the water quite cool.
But a beach walk, including digging your toes into the fine, wet sand, is a delight.
Swimming? It's not quite time for that yet, as it's only mid-May. Still warm enough to settle down on a blanket in a grove of beach pines and enjoy the rustling of the nearby sea and its spicy scents, which blend with those of the trees and the rosemary growing in between. Herb- slightly salty, this is a great pleasure for the nose and the spirit.
Every now and then, a gust of wind smelling bright like pepper and lemons makes everything perfect.
But the coolness, which can sometimes make you shiver, can be countered with a light, earthy-colored shawl made of fine sheep wool around the shoulders. Especially when it has a slight hint of patchouli....
"Oriental" is certainly not what this "Blue Glow" is. And that's just fine here. Although I also enjoy a "rich, spicy Orient," an olfactory North Sea holiday in late spring can prove to be quite pleasant and relaxing :-))
