Kilian Smoking Hot at a Reasonable Price
Finally, a Lattafa that knows how to convince.
Recently, Lattafa has been releasing too many fragrances on the market.
In terms of quality, they are sometimes not that impressive.
Fortunately, I live near perfumeries that also offer Lattafa, so I was able to test "Mashrabya / مشربية | Lattafa / لطافة".
Mashrabya is said to be a dupe for Smoking Hot.
Is that really the case? I can't really say.
I just trust the opinions of those who have tested the original.
I haven't smelled anything similar to Mashrabya, so for me at least, it's a totally unique scent.
I perceive the opening as fruity and steamy.
Apple, dates, and tobacco are the most prominent notes for me.
The tobacco here is very smooth and doesn't smell too strong or harsh.
Shisha smoke is listed here, and indeed the fragrance in the dry down has something of an apple, date shisha.
Apple and dates smell in the air and together almost like a delicious, dark cherry.
Whenever I walk past a shisha bar, I always catch a sweet scent that doesn't really smell like "smoke" but rather like steam.
I hope you understand what I mean.
And Mashrabya smells somewhat similar.
I don't perceive vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon very strongly; they probably give the fragrance that slightly sweet spiciness that makes it so special.
Delicious, sweet (not sticky sweet), steamy (is that how you say it?) and niche.
I can imagine that the original smells of higher quality, but I am still impressed.
The performance is also decent.
I've worn it three times, and I could always smell it very well for hours without having to search for it.
Longevity was always until the next day, but then my top had to go into the washing machine.
Unisex or too masculine? I would say W40%/60%M.
So still unisex, but it leans slightly towards the masculine.
The original is predominantly owned by men.
It might be too masculine for some ladies, so it's better to get a decant if possible.
My conclusion: great scent, good performance, what more could you want?
The price could be a bit better.
While it is worth every cent, it is still a Lattafa.
For 25-30 it would be a steal.
But I can still recommend it to anyone who likes it sweet and extraordinary.
