You get what you pay for…
… is it a good dupe? Yep. Is it 1:1? You’re NEVER going to get 1:1 if it’s $300 vs $30.

That’s the kind of difference it is.

It’s a replica jersey. A fake handbag. Something that an average passerby who isn’t an enthusiast might not know…. UNLESS YOU COMPARE THEM SIDE BY SIDE…

That’s right, even if they aren’t a fraghead, if you put them side by side, they will know. And they will know which one is the more expensive one as well. It is THAT obvious.

That doesn’t mean it’s bad though.

Mashrabya doesn’t even TRY to do the Smoking Hot opening. It skips it completely and opens with a loud, sweeter version of the mid. A VERY sweet, spicy cherry bomb opening. You can tell that it is TRYING to be the same, and it does a good job. It’s like a good impersonator. He is built the same way, and does a fantastic job on the makeup and outfit, but you KNOW it’s not the real person.

Smoking hot has more depth. The smokiness, spices, and thickness. It gives me a darker visual. A resinous, dark brown. The spices are THERE.

Mashrabya gives a good try, but it’s a much sweeter, rounder vibe. A lighter colored, syrupy visual. This stays the same throughout the whole performance. Even when it dries to a skin scent, it’s a very good impersonation, but you can tell it’s just a pretender. Not enough smoke. Not enough spice. A good replica. No more, no less.

For $30? If you like sweeter scents, or like the OG but don’t want to shell out $300 for the real thing, it’s not bad. But you WILL know.

Performance is great. Loud scent bubble; easily 3-5ft. Fantastic longevity, easy 10+hours. Sillage? Yep. They will know it was you, and where you went.

It’s all about your expectations. An enthusiast will know you’re wearing a dupe. The houses (Lataffa, Armaf, Afnan, Rasasi, etc) are doing them well, and are worthy of their price tags, but the enthusiasts CAN and WILL detect the quality of ingredients. It’s not that hard.

So glad I only got a decant!
Opening
: ... WTF is this?! This is the BEST example why you should ALWAYS get decants! I've smoked Shisha for 20 years (2-4 a day!), mostly Double Apple. This is NOTHING like it. It has this weird "liquid smoke" note that I hated in Ameer Al Oud Intense... The note that smells like you lit a log on fire and then peed on it to put it out. Apple? Maybe 5%, but mostly sickening pee smoke. Tobacco? Don't know... Can't smell anything over that liquid smoke-pee.

Dry-down
: Take an apple ahisha head, put pee instead of water in the shisha, let people smoke it until it's out, then put 6 coals on the same used head, and smoke that burnt head... That's how "close" it is to Apple shisha. This is definitely in the bottom 5 of over 150 frags I've tried by now. NOT a safe blind, even for apple shisha lovers. If you liked Ameer Al Oud Intense, there's maybe a 50% chance you'll like this one.

Subjective Scent Score
: 2.0/10 (just because I'm sure there are worst scents out there)

Longevity
: 8.4/10 (9.5 hours)
Projection
: 8.0/10 (high, but not nuclear... Less than Ameer Al Oud Intense)
Blind buy safety score
: 1.5/10 (5.0 if you're liked Ameer Al Oud Intense)
Unisex Score
: 70% Male leaning.

This One's A Baddie
If you like Kilian's Smoking Hot but hate the price, here's your answer. Mashrabya is a baddie designed for women who exude black cat. There's NOTHING apologetic about this scent or the way it opens loud and proud with the undeniable splash of apple shisha with an almost licorice vibe as a direct result of the tobacco smokiness and the spice of cinnamon and pink pepper. On the dry down it retains its smokiness with the oud and leather combination, hinting at the apple sweetness and boozy vanilla/patchouli punch behind it.

This has projection. It has staying power. It has that undeniable sexiness to it... It's not going to be for everyone, and certainly isn't for a teenager - but it's unisex that could fit a man or really be a wow factor on the right woman.

Kilian Smoking Hot at a Reasonable Price
Finally, a Lattafa that knows how to convince.
Recently, Lattafa has been releasing too many fragrances on the market.
In terms of quality, they are sometimes not that impressive.
Fortunately, I live near perfumeries that also offer Lattafa, so I was able to test "Mashrabya / مشربية | Lattafa / لطافة".

Mashrabya is said to be a dupe for Smoking Hot.
Is that really the case? I can't really say.
I just trust the opinions of those who have tested the original.
I haven't smelled anything similar to Mashrabya, so for me at least, it's a totally unique scent.

I perceive the opening as fruity and steamy.
Apple, dates, and tobacco are the most prominent notes for me.
The tobacco here is very smooth and doesn't smell too strong or harsh.

Shisha smoke is listed here, and indeed the fragrance in the dry down has something of an apple, date shisha.
Apple and dates smell in the air and together almost like a delicious, dark cherry.
Whenever I walk past a shisha bar, I always catch a sweet scent that doesn't really smell like "smoke" but rather like steam.
I hope you understand what I mean.
And Mashrabya smells somewhat similar.
I don't perceive vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon very strongly; they probably give the fragrance that slightly sweet spiciness that makes it so special.
Delicious, sweet (not sticky sweet), steamy (is that how you say it?) and niche.
I can imagine that the original smells of higher quality, but I am still impressed.

The performance is also decent.
I've worn it three times, and I could always smell it very well for hours without having to search for it.
Longevity was always until the next day, but then my top had to go into the washing machine.

Unisex or too masculine? I would say W40%/60%M.
So still unisex, but it leans slightly towards the masculine.
The original is predominantly owned by men.
It might be too masculine for some ladies, so it's better to get a decant if possible.

My conclusion: great scent, good performance, what more could you want?
The price could be a bit better.
While it is worth every cent, it is still a Lattafa.
For 25-30 it would be a steal.
But I can still recommend it to anyone who likes it sweet and extraordinary.

Great smoky-fruity shisha scent
Continuing on with Lattafa, this great Mashrabya definitely deserves a review. A fantastic modern scent that fits perfectly into the current times. I am not a fan of shisha and all that goes with it, but this fruity tobacco simply smells good, and this also applies to fragrances. This Mashrabya is marketed as a Smoking Hot dupe. Not many people know this Kilian, and I have no idea if Lattafa intentionally wanted to release a dupe of this scent. Perhaps Lattafa was simply inspired by this Kilian. I tested Smoking Hot and even considered buying it. The price-performance ratio for the 50ml was not that great, as it already has designer-like qualities. Even though it is really well made and high quality, the prices for what you get were too high for me. Here, Lattafa offers a really, really good alternative. Specifically, the top note comes quite close to the whole thing, and the rest is also pleasant to smell. I particularly recommend it to young people, as this shisha note gives it a stylish vibe. Overall, this scent fits into this modern, stylish appearance.

Price-wise, this scent is as usual super, and you get a high-quality fragrance that can hold its own against the original. The bottle is quite cool and looks elegant. A great black-gold combination with a cool golden cap. The bottle is quite heavy and has nice details. The packaging is rather discreet for Lattafa standards.
The star of the creation is clearly the shisha apple tobacco. A wonderful fruity note combined with this typical shisha tobacco. You have to like it, as this apple does not smell like an authentic apple but rather distinctly like shisha. Additionally, there is this slightly smoky note that is meant to represent the shisha vapor note. It has a great special vibe with this smoky apple. The tobacco also comes through well and fits nicely with this shisha note. In the heart note, the notes of date and cinnamon come through, giving it a wonderful spicy-sweet vibe. The base is warm with caramel-vanilla, some dark patchouli, and a slightly oriental-smoky oud note. Overall, it is extremely pleasing, even if it sounds quite challenging in parts. In times of fruity vapes, this is definitely a safe scent that should match the style. Towards the end, I definitely prefer the Kilian, but here you get an extremely successful alternative at a good price. Unisex is fair, even though there are clearly more male fans here. The scent is suitable for everyday wear and also fits well for the evening.
The performance is really good and rivals the Kilian. You easily get around 10 hours with 4-5 hours of good sillage. It's worth it.

Overall, this is a really good Lattafa. I would count it among my favorites from this brand as it is quite unique and there aren't many great alternatives to Smoking Hot.

Smokey!
I have each on clean skin. The Mashrabya smells like Raghba Wood Intense with a cherry note. At dry down Mashrabya is less smokey.

I really like it, somehow, it has the same DNA as Faïsa from Monegal.

Not entirely close to Smoking Hot by Kilian as suggested by many. Smoking Hot is richer and smoother, especially in the tobacco note.

It´s becoming my favorite smoky sweet apple fragrance. Something on this one is very addictive. Don't judge it by the price.

20% Apple opening with a smoky background, 80% Ameer al Oudh. They just added the apple touch in here. It's OK. Nothing extraordinary. A bit too smoky
