So while you sing, hum, and hopefully get into the right mood for Venice, I want to tell you the story of Laura.
Once upon a time, there was a Nonna who wore Venezia, not this version of Venezia here, but the vintage from 1992.
This Nonna, later referred to as Laura in the story, did not know in the 90s of the last millennium that we would look back on her today and call her vintage.
For Laura radiated energy and joy of life. She always had an open ear and eye - or even two - for all things beautiful, a penchant for romance and drama, of which, it is rumored, a small part has rubbed off on her granddaughter.
Adult and independent as she was, she always maintained a dreamy gaze, a childlike countenance, and the ability to take an interest in and enjoy even the smallest things that seemed insignificant.
She also enjoyed her favorite drink, a sweet plum liqueur (not a spritz, even though she liked that too), of which she would indulge in a glass during the week when no one was watching.
Laura enjoyed the lightness of being, and in her arms, one could always feel safe - just like with Venezia.

Anyone looking for a substitute for Laura, the vintage Venezia, in this version will likely be disappointed.
Laura still celebrates the lightness, the spring in Venice, and is (still) bearable even at temperatures beyond 30 and 40 degrees Celsius. However, she is still far from fitting into her Nonna's clothes, as she is (still) too delicate, not strong enough.
So why a missing person report?
Well… There are two things I personally miss here:
1.: Laura. 2.: the peach and the plum.
On one hand, the vintage Laura from Venezia, on the other, the new EdT applied, this difference becomes painfully clear: the longevity and projection of the modern Laura are not remotely comparable to her Nonna, the vintage Venezia, and the peach, which in the old version wafted softly and deliciously throughout the day, is no longer detectable, at least not on me. The plum is also a knockout in the vintage version, like sweet sugary liqueur made from dried plums, whereas here it is hardly perceptible to me at all.
Nevertheless, Laura is still, without wanting to engage in self-praise here, beautiful, timeless, elegant, and special.
One does not encounter a Laura or her granddaughter Lauretta every day.
