Of Sauna Infusions and Holy Masses
The second of the 4 gifts from a dear perfumer is "Passione," which I indulged in again last night and this morning.
First of all, it must be said that "Passione" is one of the most unusual creations I have ever sniffed. My first impression is sauna infusion with lemon and basil, mixed with a hint of turpentine, and it's quite strong. *Gulp* How do I feel about that! No, really, I don’t want to smell like this - I’ll let it develop a bit more, first heading to handball and then I’ll see. The lemony-sour notes recede into the background over the next 2 hours, and gradually something emerges that isn’t even listed, namely frankincense! I’m quite surprised! A sauna infusion that transforms into a waft of frankincense of the beautiful, soft, yet distinct kind, who would have thought.
I like the scent, even though I wouldn’t buy it, as the initial note lingers too long for my taste. I don’t even catch a whiff of the supposedly contained jasmine.
For my taste, this is a "test" perfume, but not one I would want to wear frequently. However, it is not without its beauty.
