Where Bvlgari pour Femme and Love in Black meet
Aptly named BREZZA DI SETA is a very appealing floral perfume with a somewhat powdery, lightly woody drydown. The opening reminds me of BVLGARI POUR FEMME, with the rose and violets especially mingling together. I do not detect any lavender here, but maybe it all works together synthetically, as in every skillful blend which shrouds its notes in mystery.

To my nose, this is a gorgeous creation with a glistening resinous quality especially in the opening moments. The wood, which emerges subsequently, smells to me like finely powdered cedar (not vetiver), but it adds depth and texture. I find the drydown of this composition vaguely reminiscent of Creed LOVE IN BLACK, what with the powdery wood and violets and all...

BREZZA DI SETA may not be the most original perfume to have been launched in recent history, but it really does smell wonderful. I am of the opinion that sometimes different perfumers create apparently similar creations not because they are copying each other but because a good idea is a good idea, and a splendid scent is a splendid scent!

I do think that this naturally sweet-smelling flowery and powdery perfume is best suited for women. The longevity is excellent and the sillage medium.

Crotchety old woman
The woman is minimum 75 years old, rather 85. She still maintained the nobility, the natural elegance of the older women, but she has weird habits in case of perfumes. A suppressed, resinous amber goes out to patrol as a faithful dog. Surprisingly I like it. The whole environment is condensed in the fragrance: dry old human skin, hundred years old furniture, wrinkles as spider web, dust. This is the end of the story of a life. The lady is sitting in front of a pile powdery vanille cookies. At the end we get a cup of coffee. Pleasant brown, calming scent, long lasting.

a Touch of Peace
"A week to go, then it's Christmas!" said my calendar.
"What do you know," grinned the thermometer, "better take a closer look at me!"
I looked.
And I looked again.
That couldn't be, not in the middle of December, not just a few days before the festival of festivals, which was supposed to be white and cold, deeply snowed in with half-meter-long icicles hanging from the gutters.
And yet, there it was: 13 degrees Celsius.
No snow, no ice, no snowball fight romance.
Gray sky, dull light, rain falling in strings from the sky.
And this was supposed to be December?!

Maybe it was a coincidence that on a day like today, "Brezza di Seta" happened to fall into my searching hand.
Maybe it was meant to find me, the silky breeze, who knows.
Whoever may have guided my hand: They knew what they were doing, and they did it well.

Delicate mauve-violet chiffon powder floats over fine spicy herbaceous memories of a summer garden, neither cool nor warm, almost twilight, shifting, contrasting tender softness with angular edges, here and there scratchily fine with prickly tips, bitterly herbaceous.
Dress me up, send me away.
Round and soft and rough and gray-green-brown.
A bit of "Rêverie au Jardin," but without its labyrinth.

For an hour, it wafts here and there before "Brezza di Seta" reveals its soul - it becomes quiet, very quiet, softly sweet silky powder marries with smoky balsam resin on a bed of fine spicy ambers, warming, warming up, deeper yet light, dense yet transparent, comforting and friendly and so good.
Forget the heavy gray, the wet green, the unrelenting ticking second hand of my clock, and the bright red of that book that times and sorts my days.
Lightness, cheerfulness, light and air and peace.
In the middle of December.
A week before Christmas.
Miracles still happen.

An Unusual Composition
Brezza di Seta - a silky breeze is supposed to waft around us here - a beautiful name that promises an attractive perfume. But a look at the notes in the base is puzzling: Can oriental notes like patchouli, tonka, and vanilla really create a gentle breeze?

The top notes initially fulfill the promise: there are powdery notes, floral elements, and subtle fresh notes. Quite restrained and only noticeable if you know it, lavender makes an appearance. It is precisely this that is responsible for the breeze. I have mentioned it several times in comments - in my experience, lavender can make a fragrance float, especially when it doesn't take center stage itself.

As expected, Brezza di Seta quickly gains stability. The lavender is truly just a top note; no fixation seems to hold it over the first few minutes. The oriental notes get to work but are skillfully kept in check. On one hand by a somewhat green-herbaceous vetiver, and on the other - and above all - by a distinctly attractive, medicinal note. Here, the blackcurrant develops clear cough syrup qualities.

Surprisingly - despite these rather assertive notes, everything remains light, soft, and powdery. “Dosis venum facit” - the perfumer has certainly considered this with the use of tonka and co.! Integrating strong notes into a delicate perfume is not something you see every day - it is truly intelligent and excitingly done.

I would, however, not support the classification as a purely women's fragrance. Because I could also wear Brezza di Seta. Nevertheless, it is a bit of a jam-with-mustard contrast that is celebrated here - and I am cautious about that. On the other hand, it is well done and above all very subtle. One has to be somewhat open and step back from conventional thought patterns. This experimental fragrance is a success for me.

I can imagine Brezza di Seta as a light feel-good perfume, for weekends in bed or for trips to the countryside or the sea - in nice, not too hot weather, where one can enjoy a silky air.

Please, a bottle full of "Isola Bella at Dusk"
Brezza di Seta: Silken breeze, translated into German - that which is so cherished after the icy winter, when spring offers its first warmth and the spirits of life and love awaken once more.
Finally bare arms and legs again, neck free of scarves and shawls, hair pinned up, I let myself be caressed by the tender waves of warm air. I look forward to the coming spring, to the promised summer (please! finally again!), perhaps even to vacation breezes in the warmer regions of Northern Italy.

For me, Brezza di Seta is the scentified Lago Maggiore.
A dream of a lake, pampered by the sun, nurturing and allowing Mediterranean plants to thrive - where bananas grow, frangipani bloom in gardens, where everything that usually survives only in greenhouses flourishes outdoors.
Palms! Bougainvilleas! Jasmine! Oleander! (No, it’s not a Vernell, it really is like this, completely without kitsch and advertising promises!)
The view from the road up into the stately villa gardens, which tower over the passing cars, reveals little, but what can be seen is green, lush green, and blooming. Ancient magnolia trees stand together with swaying palms, rose bushes overflow with flowers of all colors.

In the late afternoon, a gentle breeze comes from the lake, like silk, softly, warm-cool, caressingly delicate, full of aromas. Isola Bella lies nestled in violet haze and gently beckons with its baroque ornamental gardens. Small waves softly splash against the pebbly beach and lap over bare feet. It gets cooler, a slight shiver makes me reach for my shawl. Silken breeze... Gentle wind. This is all that I associate as soon as I spray the fragrance.

An initial perception of leather is present, not listed, but clearly noticeable to me. This quickly fades, leaving only the bitter and sweet aromas of lavender and creamy roses, of green violet leaves and porcelain-like magnolia blossoms floating like transparent gossamer around my skin.
Nothing lasts forever, for this fragrance is not constant. It does not cling to skin or clothing, but changes its strength like the breezes by the water, sometimes cool and green, sometimes warm and sunny, caressing around me. The sillage is pleasant, yet not too strong.
I feel enveloped by the finest aromas, a scent that makes me happy.

Somewhere, a small, cheeky hint of incense is hidden - it is not mentioned, but cannot sneak away unnoticed. I've got it in my grasp! Even the grassy vetiver cannot hide behind it, let alone the delicate, delectable tonka bean. But it is kindly so subtle that I can just about tolerate it.

Despite the breezy lightness, this fragrance has excellent longevity on my skin, and the fragrant veils of flowers and greenery gently waft around me again and again. I feel comfortable with Brezza di Seta, and the fine aromas transport me, even in the midst of winter, into the positive mood of warmer seasons.
What remains in the end is an exceedingly delicious, vanilla-creamy dessert note that, like a second skin of the finest silk, does not overwhelm but gives the body a touch of protection and well-being. It makes me crave crème brûlée, that caramel-crunchy first layer with the vanilla custard underneath....

A fragrance that I will hoard - for someday it surely will no longer be available.

Unfortunately, it has a fermented smell, like stale flowers in compost. Something about this combination (of actually great individual components) is off.
