just one of many of its time?
No, even if it seems that way at first.
For "Style" has its own unmistakable personality, showing how versatile the eighties were in fashion and especially in fragrances.
It is a great pleasure for me to rediscover it now or to get to know it anew, and to appreciate it as a unique fragrance artwork (perhaps through age and experience) even more than I would have back then.
With "Style," the name says it all: This is not a going-out fragrance for special occasions, but a daily expression of stylish elegance!
Familiar fragrance notes weave together into a floral-spicy chypre scent that is very much of its time (1987).
My now somewhat sharpened senses guide me through a start of sun-kissed freshness: Oranges and of course bergamot accompanied by aldehydes are surely present in this composition.
Is there already a hint of leather?
First, however, a rich heart of flowers opens up: richly blooming roses, lush white jasmine, finely spiced carnations, proud iris, ylang-ylang, always smiling and friendly, gather here in a highly harmonious way; is a little white lily of the valley peeking around the corner? That’s not impossible.
Beautiful and classically elegant, the previous mixture develops, and of course, the base of well-known fragrance notes fits perfectly.
A good dose of oakmoss cannot be denied, as well as patchouli - ripe and earthy - and the animalistic creaminess of sandalwood appears sensual and warm on the skin, playfully flirting with all the fragrance notes gathered here.
Thus, a wonderfully matured chypre fragrance is created, wearing which is a true pleasure for me, especially due to the great sillage and long-lastingness.
I feel exceptionally comfortable and well-dressed.
Lenthéric: The name of this brand was previously unfamiliar to me, but after meeting "Style," I will certainly be more attentive in the future.
I believe it’s worth it!
