Testing this fragrance definitely convinced me that my skin emphases black currant and cassis notes, which I do not like. I just finished with testing Enchanted Forest by Vagabond Prince and the dominant note for my nose was black currant.. . well, there were also fir tree and resins, which combination was beautiful, but the case of Acqua Santa is extreme black currant. For me it’s a smell of black currant jam and it's rather linear. It’s not this jam that you can buy from supermarkets, but it is the home-made jam were you put normally less sugar, the smell is more natural. Actually the smell of black currant leaves(cassis) is more woody, than the berries.
For me it doesn't have a smell of caramel and the bergamot adds even more sourness. I wouldn’t classify Acqua Santa as gourmand, it’s fruity or maybe sweet fruity perfume with good longevity.
