You probably know this too: you smell a fragrance and it immediately feels familiar. Unfortunately, you just don’t know where it’s from or which other scent it reminds you of.
I experienced exactly that here - and Vista Sul Mare seems predestined for it.
This aquatic spicy top note has encountered me somewhere before, possibly even multiple times, but no matter how often I rummage through the fragrance archive in my head, I can’t figure it out.
And unfortunately, the scent remains relatively linear from the unpretentious beginning to the brisk end (is the brand Linari derived from that?).
But as Ergproxy already noted, the arrangement in Vista Sul Mare is too arbitrary. There are definitely more successful compositions on the theme of "sea" or "water." And the spiciness here leans too much towards the peppery side for my taste.
For a drugstore or mainstream fragrance, that might still work, but for a high-priced niche scent, I find myself pondering quite a bit - unfortunately, Vista Sul Mare is too mediocre and too short-winded for that.
I can totally relate. With other Linari scents, I had the same experience as you, especially with those by Mark Buxton. They smell very similar to his creations for Biehl. And what about Egon Oelkers? He's also represented there with perfumes. Should we check that out? ;-)
