Stronger upbeat than the original, a twin in the drydown
I have to be honest and say that I hesitated for a while to get this fragrance - after all, the previous reviews weren't that great, and last but not least, I had to buy it without being able to test it because, as is so often the case, Zara didn't have a suitable tester. Curiosity won out in the end - fortunately, I can now say.
I was really pleasantly surprised by this fragrance - as soon as I sprayed it on, it was clear that the name "Elixir" is not without good reason! The opening is much stronger, more multifaceted and, above all, more fruity than its designer model (YSL Libre Le Parfum), and in the drydown the two fragrances are like twins. At best, you can perceive a tiny, almost non-existent difference on the test paper, but on the skin I think it is actually impossible to tell the difference. The longevity is quite comparable to the Designer, and I would even describe the sillage as slightly better.
Even though Golden Decade Elixir is a little soapy and slightly synthetic, it fits in fantastically with the overall concept, especially with the fruity opening of the fragrance.
Conclusion: I for one am thrilled and will probably get another bottle as a backup. And I only do that when I am really convinced by a fragrance.
