Warm spring afternoons

"V" was Lush's first fragrance and the first violet creation by perfumer and Lush founder Mark Constantine. For a long time the fragrance was considered a rarity in the Lush community until the beginning of 2019 when Lush launched the "Perfume Library". A collection of 29 fragrances, consisting of Lush and Cosmetics To Go classics as well as two completely new fragrances.

My enthusiasm was correspondingly great when I found out that 8 fragrances from the collection, which at that time was only available exclusively in the Liverpool flagship store, would appear for a short time in the German online shop. I chose V.

V begins with opulent candied violets mixed with a somewhat sharp/bitter note that I can't quite place. I smell pepper. However, the intensity of the sharp note subsides after a few seconds and can only be perceived in the background. Now the most beautiful note of the fragrance, the cedar wood, emerges and covers the gentle violets like a cloak. The clove adds warmth and further sweetness to the fragrance. For me, the fragrance radiates a certain carefreeness and calm.

After a few hours, the violets come to the fore and push the wood out of the overall picture. What remains are violets in their most powdery form.
