If Midori was a soap, in a good way

When I first spritzed this, I thought it smelled powdery/soapy and melony. Honestly, it reminded me of that era when so many perfumes (and cocktails) featured melon. At least this is more of a honeydew, which I prefer.
Just spritzed it for hubby, who thought the initial smell reminded him of apples and kumquats. He said he liked that they "had the guts to make what they had in mind vs. some half-hearted fragrances".
I do get the "aquatic" notes, as well as fresh and green.
The dry down is nice, not much different from the top and mid sniffs. The sillage is close social distance, neither "have to stick your nose on their body to smell it," nor "you can smell it across the room and it knocks you out." As a lighter-smelling fragrance (even though for some reason hubby detected some spice vs. my smelling soap!), the sillage was just right
It layered well with my JHAG Not a Perfume, as all my purchases should, and I got a gift set from the MAC website at a great clearance price plus an extra 15% off.
I think MAC shot themselves in the foot with the name. The scent is better than it sounds, which is like an unmemorable pokemon. Not the kind of name people would brag about wearing. Maybe MAC thought they'd only be selling it for a season? But it's worth keeping.
