If Midori was a soap, in a good way
When I first spritzed this, I thought it smelled powdery/soapy and melony. Honestly, it reminded me of that era when so many perfumes (and cocktails) featured melon. At least this is more of a honeydew, which I prefer.
Just spritzed it for hubby, who thought the initial smell reminded him of apples and kumquats. He said he liked that they "had the guts to make what they had in mind vs. some half-hearted fragrances".
I do get the "aquatic" notes, as well as fresh and green.
The dry down is nice, not much different from the top and mid sniffs. The sillage is close social distance, neither "have to stick your nose on their body to smell it," nor "you can smell it across the room and it knocks you out." As a lighter-smelling fragrance (even though for some reason hubby detected some spice vs. my smelling soap!), the sillage was just right
It layered well with my JHAG Not a Perfume, as all my purchases should, and I got a gift set from the MAC website at a great clearance price plus an extra 15% off.
I think MAC shot themselves in the foot with the name. The scent is better than it sounds, which is like an unmemorable pokemon. Not the kind of name people would brag about wearing. Maybe MAC thought they'd only be selling it for a season? But it's worth keeping.

Musky, beachy, fresh, watery
One of the few aquatics that I really like! This would make a wonderful signature for summer time. This smells like if pool water was actually a lovely smell, I know that sounds strange. There's a bit of zesty citrus but it's woody enough too that it's more fresh than sweet. This is like if Cool Water removed that dated calone melon note and what was left was just long lasting aquatic freshness.

Not My Favorite Island
In the morning, freshly slathered in sunscreen, we head out for fun and into the sea before it gets too hot outside.. elegantly jumping from the waves and then sunbathing in the sand.. ah.. we smell our skin..

The Atlas cedar approaches with a wink and leads Anemone, Lotus, and the Iris root to these festive wooden huts on the beach in the evening, with its beach club vibes.. if Mr. Atlas cedar were to come here with a bit more smokiness, then the image of the beach club, complete with beach fire, would be perfectly staged.

(...At this moment, we see Katy Perry, dressed as a mermaid, elegantly falling off her chair..) but irony aside!

Yes, I think I am definitely a bit too old for this scent;) because the vacation mood here feels just a tad too festive, too little aquatic, too beachy, too powdery-colorful-nixy. Many of you will surely find your favorite island in this fragrance (Katy certainly will) - but it's not mine.

Addendum:
With the dry down of Turquatic, I feel the warmest. The salty note is very prominent and almost comes off as a bit sharp. A bit more aquatic would really not hurt the fragrance.

Flower petals drifting away in a lotus pond. Clean, ozonic, floral, aquatic on the feminine side.

Fresh, slightly floral aquatic fragrance - smells a bit generic but it’s not a bad scent. Clean, a bit powdery.

An aquatic scent with Calone, a salty note, and slight woody hints. A bit like a swimming pool (shower stall + chlorine smell).
Feels too "chemical" for me.

Oh yes, it's good. Feels like freshly showered, shower gel vibes. Plus, it's very subtly floral. Refreshing with today's outside temperatures.

Wow! Really great top note that actually reminds me of sparkling mineral water. Fresh, lemony, summery. Unfortunately, it becomes very subtle quickly.
