An Endless Contradiction...
Hello everyone,
I won't beat around the bush... I've had this "sample" for a while now^^ and well. At the end of the day, it's just one of many rose - oud fragrances. Some from EO play more with the rose, others with the musk, and others with the specific oud. Yes, we have many, many fragrance notes listed, but in my opinion, too many of them can be misleading, because most fragrances have 75, 100, 200 or more components used, but at the end of the day, a rose - oud - musk scent acts in its very refined and noble way.
The soft and delicate rose, which is wonderfully defined, combined with the oud that, in my opinion, does not (!) act animalistic, and then the interplay with the creamy soft musk creates a truly usable symbiosis from just these 3 fragrance notes.
And the other fragrance notes?
There are definitely certain moments where you perceive something fruity and slightly sweet, and also get the cool cypress and something very creamy; each of these is so subtle in the background, sometimes only to be sensed or is an accessory. But someone has definitely put thought into this!
The point is... - the "Crime & Punishment: VD Rose | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is really damn well made, and its H/S is just as you would wish, and the leather flacons from EO are, as always, an absolute "treat," and you can tell + smell the quality of the raw materials used here!
However, for me... I am a big fan of a certain quality and am therefore willing to pay a few euros more, but there are individual fragrances (increasingly so since 2023) whose prices are slowly drifting far from this hobby, and the "Crime & Punishment: VD Rose | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is one of those candidates where I say... it's rather difficult, and I see it as ultra difficult to recommend something like this to you...
A small sample doesn't hurt in this regard.
Whether you absolutely need to have the "Crime & Punishment: VD Rose | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is difficult to say... I'm very glad I got to know it... yes, I find it really beautiful. But nearly 35€/per ml is quite a price, and you have to have that amount of money for a flacon in the first place.
And now, have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny

PS.
It is a great addition and further development of the old "Crime & Punishment (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" ;)
