This is how spring smells...and brides....

Aqua Universalis has been in my collection in the form of a decant for a while now. I tend to prefer green and floral chypre fragrances, and I like a good sillage, so it sometimes takes me a while to reach for Aqua Universalis. But when I do wear this scent, it brings me joy. And today, at the start of spring, this Aqua is the perfect companion.

Aqua Universalis opens with bergamot and lemon. Not too sour, rather sweet and friendly, with a light sweetness. The lily of the valley quickly joins in, chiming softly but audibly. I really like lily of the valley, but only when it behaves well and doesn’t bang on the door like Obelix. This blend of citrus notes and lily of the valley is soon supported by woody notes and musk, the latter not listed, but I’m sure it’s there. This is how spring smells, bright, neat, sunny, light, and carefree.

The scent lasts about 4 hours on me, the sillage is moderate, and this water is a wonderful companion in spring and summer. And although it is listed as unisex, whenever I sniff Aqua Universalis, I always picture a young bride in white in a flower meadow, for some reason… But guys, wear it too; I wear Devin or Black Masculin as well.

Addendum: Yesterday, 3 sprays in the morning, still noticeable after 6 hours, that was quite decent.

Very nice comment. Yes, the scent isn't one of those loud, wild ones - but that's exactly what makes it so pleasant...

Lemon and sweet sounds interesting. Trophy for you!

Sounds good. Even though Aqua Universalis sounds like "common water," and I have no idea what a "pipe bush" is, and I can't quite picture lily of the valley on me. I'll add it to my wish list. Thanks for the lovely comment.

If the calendar and the comment can't bring spring here with combined forces, then I don't know what will...

For me, the lily of the valley can definitely play the role of Obelix. I like that! Very nice and entertaining comment, and surely a lovely, cheerful, and carefree(!) scent.

I enjoyed reading your comment, even though I prefer my scents to be a bit louder overall. :)

Too bad, I found it had an unpleasantly sharp laundry detergent note. :(

I'm wearing Mon Précieux Nectar today for the start of spring - I think it's quite fitting, but not as light and airy as your bridal scent, which disappears pretty quickly after 4 hours.

I thought it was nice too, but H&S was too weak for me.

Yes, I also think it's very nice with "well-behaved" lily of the valley.

I think that MFK fragrances often have a special warmth, a unique timbre, which makes them recognizable. They're definitely high-quality, yet none have made it into my collection - except for Oud Satin Mood. I would categorize this one similarly to how you did. Okay, I wouldn't think of a bride, but everyone has their own images ;-))

I always find MFK fragrances too close to mainstream. I haven't found one that really tempted me to buy it yet. But I can understand why people like them for their lightness.

And why shouldn't guys wear a wedding dress? Equal rights for everyone!

Sounds good. But I'm surprised that **mock orange** isn't mentioned. I thought it would add a bit of floral sweetness...

It's really nice, but I like the Forte just a bit better! It's more floral and lasts a little longer; I really enjoy it in warm weather!

Indeed a cheerful spring companion, but I probably won't be getting married despite the scent. :-)

Well described. I also really like AU. It's just a shame that the sillage is so "meh." That's why I use the AUF, even though I think it smells a bit different.

That sounds really nice! I don't know the scent yet, but I should definitely give it a try. Citrusy and fresh is just my thing when the temperatures are higher. Although it was only 2 degrees this morning, brrr...
