By the Fireplace Maison Margiela 2015

I hesitated for a long time about whether I should even test this fragrance because of the smoky fire scent. Tastes are known to differ, and I was just unsure.

So, I initially ordered a sample, here from the Souk. Thank you again for making it happen so quickly. It's nice to meet so many lovely people here! :-)

What can I say, the scent blew me away! It is truly beautiful! Of course, it smells very smoky at the start. However, this is not perceived as disturbing. I always thought that with a smoky scent, one would rather come off as if they had stood too close to a campfire and needed to wash or air out their clothes first.. ;-) But that's not the case at all! I am not bothered by the smoky scent in the top note at all. It could almost stay a bit longer.

After about 20 minutes, the scent develops into a beautiful, vanilla-warm, comforting fragrance for me! For me, it's a scent that nothing bothers me about. I love it when a fragrance makes you want to smell it all the time and you can't get enough.

So if you're wondering whether the smoky scent might stand in your way, just give it a try! It is so beautiful! I was so thrilled that I immediately ordered a bottle and would probably repurchase right away when the bottle runs low. ;-)
