This is what I wished I would have picked up from it, but I mostly just smelled smoke! Would you have enjoyed it more if it were smokier to you, @Raluko111 ?
@Gourmandgrl I think I sampled a few Maison Margiela in store because the discovery sets were obscenely overpriced, but when I realized that the only I liked was In the Garden (and even that as a second-hand dupe for Vetiver Escarlat), I kind of gave up on this brand. I had a 15ml vial of By the Fireplace that was gifted to me when it first came out, and for that one, yes, I have to agree with you, it was satisfyingly (for me :-) smoky. But the latest version on which my statement was based was just a simple gourmand with a hint of smoke. I wonder if you tried an older version perhaps? I've no idea if it`s been reformulated or not, but I can easily imagine MM caving in to customers searching for sweet perfume and changing the formula to boost sales.
@Raluko111 I see what you're saying, and I'm with you in hating when fragrances are named for a certain concept/note... yet have no trace of what is being described. 😅

Have you tried Autumn Vibes? I'm not a huge fan of Maison Margiela, but thought that one was much more interesting and complex!
Hi, @Gourmandgrl ! It`s not so much the smoke, but it`s the vanilla-laden chestnut dessert that bothered me. If they`d called it Mont-Blanc, I`d have been like "Oh, okay, good interpretation." But I felt like it was false advertising of a cozy fireplace, which would've been more interesting for me.
