A solid coffee fragrance, but not the best performance
This opening is very sweet with a soft coffee note. I’m feel like I’m getting a creme brûlée with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a cup of cafe au lait on the side. This is one of the most decadent gourmands I’ve tried yet. That said, it’s veering a tad cloying at this point. Let’s see if it gains some complexity in the dry down.
Okay, 30 minutes on and it’s far less cloying. The coffee note has gained strength and a soft musk has emerged as well. I’m still getting sweetness from the vanilla and brown sugar, but it’s much more balanced now. I picked up this sample because I’m on a hunt for the perfect coffee-forward fragrance. While this definitely has that coffee note I’m looking for, I think I’ve found other coffee perfumes I prefer. That said, I really like this. It’s like a gourmand for grown ups. It’s sweet and charming, but still grounded and has some depth.
3 hours on and it’s faded a lot which is disappointing. What remains is a sweet musk that I think could be widely appealing.
5 hours on and there’s no projection, but a cookie sweet scent remains from up close.
I’m not sure about this one. I really enjoyed it, but the performance isn’t quite what I hoped. That said, I’m trying to readjust my expectations for longevity (I’m perfectly satisfied with a soft projection). I’ll definitely keep this in mind for a full bottle purchase, but I might want to invest in a different gourmand perfume.
