Nice pepper scent but not a significant standout
Sampling Mancera Cosmic Pepper, a 2023 release and one I’ve wanted to try for a bit, given how much I generally enjoy pepper-focused scents. It’s a medium-weight, slightly fresh, slightly resinous, with featured notes of black and pink pepper, lemon and tangerine, oakmoss, tonka, and amber. It’s spicy but not too heady, and a bit interesting but arguably not that special, and not among my very favorite pepper-rich scents. The brand’s own Intense Pepper under Montale is one such superior example that’s priced and performs similarly to Cosmic Pepper while fittingly being a bit more intense.
Like most Mancera fragrances, it’s EDP concentration and retails for $180 for 120ml, being sold at some department stores as well as boutiques like Krystal Fragrance and Olfactif, from which I bought my sample. It’s on sale on some grey market sites, also. Its performance is good and character is interesting. Overall, I like it but do not love it.
