Woman Marbert

This Marbert Woman is a scent that my nose approaches with some skepticism. Well made, everything a beautiful fragrance needs is there, not too intrusive or heavy and cloying. Finely "chiseled" with a hint of citrus freshness, a well-rounded bouquet of flowers, and a warm woody-smoky base.
But what "bothers" me about this almost perfect fragrance?
It’s precisely that it is almost perfect. Like just out of the hairdresser’s, when the hairstyle is on point, no "hair" sticking out, perfectly round all around.
It lacks something "edgy," I can’t explain it any other way. A certain "cheeky" accent, whether it’s a particular "sassy" bloom peeking out. Or a rougher wood that isn’t smoothly planed. Or perhaps a bit more "depth"... even though longevity and projection are in the good to very good range. I definitely do NOT want to "tear apart" the scent, as it is truly too pleasing and beautiful for that. Just a subjective critique, as it feels a bit too "smooth" for my personal taste.
This was a well-intentioned gift from a good friend who chose it for me because she knows I like scents with woods and incense. Thank you, dear I.!
