A Little Sunscreen, A Little Retro
In some thread here, I read that Marbert Woman is supposed to be great; I can't even remember the exact wording, but that wording prompted me to order the fragrance immediately.
Well, it was also a steal, as we say here in the Rhineland, 11 euros for 100ml.
I had to think of my grandma when buying: "Child, what costs nothing is worth nothing!" No matter, I was in the mood for a bit of summer, after all, it's February and without Carnival...
Today it was in the mailbox, carelessly packed in a padded envelope as a merchandise shipment because it was bought through the Amazon Marketplace, a loveless, somewhat "eggshell"-like packaging. I was somewhat disappointed. Well, for the price you can't expect much, but still...
Alright, let's open the package and take a sniff. Hmm... It reminds me of something, but what?
I set it down, didn't think much about it, but couldn't get the smell out of my nose, so I quickly checked on Parfumo why I had ordered it again. Ah, the pineapple! The fruit! Fruit?
I'm new here, but I really don't smell any fruit! But I see something on the right side of the screen, fragrance twin: Nivea Sun! That's exactly it! It reminds me of sunscreen. That's how sunscreen smelled when I was a child in the late 80s, early 90s! And Nivea Sun is also a good fragrance twin. Marbert may look a bit more outdated than Nivea, but it doesn't even cost half!
Therefore, a clear recommendation for everyone who is in the mood for something a bit dusty, uh, retro sunscreen. :)
I think the children of the 80s will be catapulted back to summer vacations in Italy just like I was by the scent. And just for the memory, it was worth it, and the initial disappointment about the packaging has "vanished."
